I woke up to Graysons alarm he set on his phone.

I tapped on it to read Kid Cudi's soundtrack to my life.

And Grayson squeezing my body just enough to to slow my breathing.

He began crying in his sleep.

Tears falling out of his eyes, loud sniffles.

I rubbed his fluffy haired head, "Grayson, it's okay babe."

I whispered as one of his eyes popped open.

"Hey baby girl!" He says cheerfully as if he didn't know he was crying.

Or if he wasn't bothered.

"Did you have a good rest? Are you ready to get going?" He asks excitedly.

Practically jumping out of the bed.

"U-uh yeah.."

"How are you feeling Gray?" I ask.

"I'm good Y/N"

"Even better now that we get to go."

He grabs my hand pulling me out of the bed.

"But Gray.. you were just-"

He cuts me off.

"What? Crying? Yeah. I have this dream every once in a while.."

"You leave me. And I can't stop you from going."

"I'm trapped and by the time I realize I'm trapped everything is black."

"Then I wake."

" I don't make a big deal out of it because I know you won't leave me." He says looking down at his feet.

"Oh my gosh..Grayson. I promise I won't leave you." I say hugging him.

"I accept your promise even if you don't need to promise. I believe you... I believe in us."

I never knew Grayson could be so emotional..

A long car ride later we finally make it to the hot air balloon rental place.

Awkwardly eyeballing each other on the way.

Grayson says he's done this before and how I should trust him.

I do trust him. Just not with this.

I climb in first because Grayson told me to.

Because you know.. I should trust him.

So I'm trusting him.

He drops a bag of sand and flips into the basket.

Opening the propane valve so we slowly start rising.

"Miss me?" He asks smirkingly.

"No, but I miss the ground." I say looking down.

As we glide upward.

The smell of the propane makes my head hurt.

"Don't look down baby."

He pulls me into him.

Exhaling.

"I love you Grayson." I say

Gripping onto him as tight as I can.

I'm terrified.

"G-Grayson, I don't like t-this.."

I begin to shake.

"It'll be okay. I promise."

He holds me closer.

Close enough to hear his heartbeat.

Calming me down.

"Look at that Y/N" he slowly let's go of me and points towards some small hills.

They were gorgeous.

Covered in green.

Grayson's favorite color is green...

Hm.

I walk closer to the end of the balloon.

Examining the hills thoroughly.

When I finished I looked up at the sky.

It was beautiful and blue.

I almost couldn't look away.

My attention is pulled away when Grayson speaks.

"When Ethan and I were younger, we'd get photoshoots done in places like these.

"Spending days out here with our friend Bryant."

"He was and still is very good at his job." He says lastly.

Gazing at his surroundings as he pulls the cord opening the parachute valve making us descend back down to the ground.

On our way down,

I can't help but wonder if Grayson misses Ethan..

They haven't seen or communicated with each other since the wedding.

"Do you miss Ethan?" I slip up and ask him.

Me and my big mouth.

"uh." he says.

"No Y/N, I miss the person he used to be.."

"He moved away chasing some girl named Quinn."

"Joined the mafia and hasn't looked back since."

"He doesn't miss us and the person he once was.

"He's grown and I'm proud of him either way"

"He's my brother."

"Nothing can change that."

We land.

The walk back to the car is extremely silent.

All you can hear is our feet crunching the gravel in every step.

But I know he's not mad.

As we are hand in hand.

It was just a sensitive topic.

That I most definitely,

Should not have,

Brought up.
