We ate breakfast and went out into the woods to hunt for deer. "Geese where are they?" Peeta asked. "I don't know. We didn't see any yesterday either." I replied. We walked deep into the woods to find a deer and there was nothing. Not even a bird. "Should we go back?" I asked. "No we ate all our leftovers." Peeta replied. "Shoot. We can't starve!" I said. "It's ok. Well I guess we could eat bears." Peeta suggested. That made the hairs on my neck stand up. "Well umm I don't think we should do that." I said. "Katniss we have to eat something. Thats our only choice right now, i'll protect you." He said. I was still worried. It felt like I was in the Hunger Games again, I didn't know what to expect, anyone or anything could jump out of the trees and kill me, or we'll get lost. "Peeta do you know where we are? We never went this deep." I said. "Katniss shush, theres a bear right there." Peeta whispered. I saw it. It was looking right at us. I didn't dare to move. I breathed slowly and Peeta he looked like a statue. It kept its gaze on us. I was so scared. "Peeta should we run or kill it?" I whispered. "Wait till it looks away." He replied. It didn't, then it started to go away and right there I shot an arrow in its stomach. It growled and roared. It wasn't dead. It ran for us. "RUN RUN RUN!" Peeta yelled. As we were running I kept looking back the bear was catching up but kept biting at the arrow. We climbed up a tree because we didn't want to let the bear know where we lived. "Is it gone?" I asked closing my eyes. "Yeah, it didn't know we climbed up, its going toward the house." He replied. "Peeta are bears smart enough to know where someone lives?" I asked. "Well if it saw us run in yeah, but if it was just doing what it is now, no." Peeta replied. "K." I said back. I felt a little better knowing that it will just think it's someone elses. But what if it already knows our sent? "Should we go?" I asked. "Yeah, but this time i'm going to check it out." He said. "Peeta no! Theres a bear on the loose by our house! I'm coming with you!" I said. He looked in my eyes "Katniss I don't want to loose you, i've lost my family, you lost Prim, we lost a whole bunch of people. But I'm not going to loose you. Now this is only fair, I let you go get the medicine for me in the Hunger Games, now let me just go check if that bear is over where our house is. That's all i'm asking." He said. He was right I have to let him go, but then I thought i'm the one that lost everything and i'm the one that deserves to die. "Okay. But one more thing." I said. I leaned in to kiss him. He kissed me back. "Now let me go." He said. I nodded my head. "Just, please be careful." I said. He didn't answer. All I heard was jogging and the leaves.
