Josh's POV
I was so happy to hear the school bell, as it signaled it was the end of the day and that meant I could see Maya again.
"Mr Matthews, I think my mummy is running late. Do you think I could sit with you?" Evie came up to me and asked, once everyone had left the classroom.
"Sure Evie. So what are you up to tonight?" I asked.
"Well I've convinced my mum to watch Princess Proctection Program with me." Her smile was exactly the same as her mother's.
"Have you seen that movie before?" I asked her.
"Yeah its the best movie ever." She started jumping up and down in excitement.
"I'll tell you what, I'll higher the cinema so we can watch the movie on a massive tv screen, if you convince your mum to let me take you both. Then out for pizza if you enjoy it or don't enjoy it." I could tell Evie was exited already.
"So either way it's win, win. Wow Joshua, I always knew you have the key to my heart. Pizza and a movie that my child loves." I said the last part sarcastically.
"So what do you say Hart? Oh sorry, Hunter. You in?" She nodded her head and took Evie by the hand and once she was sure Evie was out of ear shot, she walked back over to me and stole my phone to put her number in, when she looked up at me.
"You kept my number Josh?" She smiled.
"Of course. Why wouldn't I?" I shook my head in confusion.
"I'll see you later." She smiled, then left. Why did I ever let her go?
Maya's POV
"Mummy!" I heard Evie shouting from her room, then a few seconds later she appeared in front of me sitting on the sofa. "Can I wear this dress tonight?" She had her Ocean blue maximum length dress with silver jewels along he neck line.
"Sweety, it's a bit fancy for the cinema and where ever Josh is taking us, you not think?" She shrugged her shoulders.
"Yeah maybe. Can I wear leggings and my mickey mouse sweater?" Before I could answer, she was running back to her room. "Mummy does my daddy not like me? He's never around." Evie said as she came back through, after she had gotten changed.
"Sweety, he's never met you, but if I did I know he'll love you." I hugged her.
"Then let's go see him." Evie went over and opened the door the find Josh standing behind it.
Josh's POV
I was about to knock on Maya's door, but I made the stupid mistake of eavesdropping on a conversation about Evie's father. Then the door opened.
"Mr Matthews is here mummy." Evie turned around to speak to her mother.
"Hey, I was just about to knock." I scratched the back of my head. "You ready to go?"
"Yeah." Maya said as she picked up her purse of the sofa. Evie's little hand slipped in mine as she started pulling me towards the stairs of the apartment building, only to drag me down them to my car.
Maya's POV
At the end of the movie Evie fell asleep, so Josh carried her to the pizza place next door. As soon as he sat her down on the booth chair across from us, her eyes became wide open.
"And that's how to pretend to be asleep so you don't have to walk. Feel to take notes." Evie said making us chuckle.
"Yip, definitely your daughter on the level of sassiness." He said as he took a sip of the drink he bought at the bar while we waited on our table.
"So why did you pick Mario's Pizza place for our dinner?" I asked Josh.
"Isn't Mario's your favourite pizza place? I mean, if I were to guess." He smirked.
"Hm, guessing is that what they called stalking these days?" I giggled. Dammit, I never giggle.
After a couple more hours of chatting, we went back to my place. (let's go back to my place, look at that face, I don't ever wanna let you go, it's all about mistakes, heartbreak..... and I see it on your face let's go back to my place.😉😍) Evie fell asleep straight away surprisingly, while me and Josh just caught up on each others lives.
