He laughs. "You have a ton of books weighing down your bag. Your black headphones are dangling from your phone in your jacket. You wearing solid black, emo-ish stuff. Emo people typically have a bad thing that has or had happened to them. And lastly, you put your head down in class. You have bad grades, but that's only because you probably know everything and don't want to be called a nerd."

Well, that's an explanation. "Y-yea. Basically. How did you see that?", I ask.

   "It's a useless talent. I'm very observant."

   "It's not useless."

   "Yes it is."

"No, not with the teachers. You could be gold with the popular boys."

"I don't wanna be popular. I wanna be like you."

   "No, you don't."

"And why is that?" I just roll my eyes. I'd rather not have to explain.

"You said you're observant. Figure it out."

"I never said I was that observant. Tell me."

"No." I feel something on my thigh. I look down to see Cole's hand resting lightly near my knee. I pick up his hand and place it on his own leg. "Listen, I'm not looking for a relationship. Or a best friend. I'm just here to show you around. Once you know everything, I won't need to talk or hang out with you again."

   His face dropped.
