startin off small here

one of the most common errors i see people make (i make it, too!) is in the paragraph layout.

please, please remember to start new paragraphs! long chunks of text are really frustrating to read, honestly. i still read them if the content is good, but it annoys me and many others.

Keep in mind these important things about paragraph spacing or whatever the fuck its called:

1) A paragraph is a single idea. For example, if you are describing someone, that could be one paragraph. But as soon as you move on to something else, start another. A paragraph describing someones silky red hair and brown eyes or some shit should NEVER be combined with a paragraph describing someone or something else. Basically, stick to one idea at a time.

2) Remember to start a new paragraph every time someone new speaks. It's just confusing otherwise, and it can also be useful in dialogue. For example, you can use it to eliminate a lot of "he said", "she shouted",  "they exclaimed" sort of things:

"Why?" she asked curiously.

"Because!" he said, scuffing his foot in the grass.

"But wouldn't it make more sense to blah blah blah?"

"No, because blah blah blah!"

idk if this is good advice i wrote it a while back ;)

tbh im a hypocritical hoe who follows none of my own advice BUT whatever
