Virgil was chilling on the couch with his headphones on when Roman came up to him.

"You have a ukulele?"

Virgil looked up at him and took his earbuds out. "Yeah, why?"

"I just thought it was cool. I saw it in your room."

"What were you doing in my room?" Virgil asked.

"I was looking for you. I just happened to notice the ukulele on your bed." Roman said.

"Oh." Virgil blinked.

"What songs do you know on it?" Roman asked.

Virgil shrugged. "Uh, I don't know. I know a couple."

"Can you play one?" Roman asked.

"Uh... I guess." Virgil said. He got up and got his ukulele from his room, and brought it back to the living room. "Any requests?"

"Surprise me." Roman said.

"Well... I don't know what to play now." Virgil blanked.

"Anything." Roman said.

Virgil hesitated, then thought of a song Thomas had taught him. He positioned his fingers the way he had learned, and played.

You can have the toaster and the PC
Or even my Timothy Greene DVD
I'll let you have the couch and the TV
Hang on to the jacket that you bought for me

I don't really care,
You can keep the things we used to share
But what did you do with my heart?
What did you do with my heart?

No more fireworks,
No more compass,
You didn't leave a single butterfly in my stomach,
Took my spyglass,
No knowing what lies ahead,
Took my warmth at night,
But left a dent in my bed.

I don't really care,
You can keep the things we used to share,
But what did you do with my heart?
What did you do with my heart?

Stripped me of my pride,
That's for the best,
But you also deprived me of a full night's rest
So no more dreams where we pull through
And I can't collect my thoughts cause they're still with you

I don't really care,
You can keep the things we used to share,
But what did you do with my heart?
What did you do with my heart?

Roman stared at Virgil, awestruck. Virgil continued to play and he focused on his fingers and the lyrics, but he couldn't help but notice the way Roman was grinning at him. He looked like an idiot, but that wasn't a bad thing.

I wouldn't take it back even though I feel sore,
I meant it when I said what's mine is yours,
But I need to know now that we're apart,
What did you do?
I need to know now that we're apart,
What did you do with my heart?
What did you do with my heart?
What did you do with my heart?
What did you do with my heart?

"...What did you do with my heart?" Virgil finished the song and set down his ukulele.

"That was... Amazing." Roman said.

"Thank you." Virgil said.

"What is the song from? I don't think I've heard it before." Roman said.

"My friend taught it to me. He sung it about a past breakup that really got to him, but I think his best friend was the one who wrote it." Virgil said. "He posted it on YouTube, though. It's called 'The Things We Used To Share'."
