Lauren's POV:
I went to school the next day, I then saw Shawn as he came up to me, "Laur!" he yelled at me by his created nickname; I can't remember the nickname my parents named me. I didn't know what I was putting myself in but Shawn seems sweet for a bad boy "Shawny!" I yelled back making us chuckle, then he pulled in for a hug which was kind of different for me but I accepted it and hugged back, the hug felt different, it felt warm and nice.
He then pulled away and looked at me, "are you okay?" he asked
"Why wouldn't I be?" I asked
"We kept hugging for a while, I thought there's something wrong" he said
"No, it's just that... I miss getting hugs like that" I replied, realizing that I was blushing so I hid it away quickly, I realized in the corner of my eye he was giving me a genuine and warm smile
"Stick with me, I'll make sure you get more of it" he replied making me chuckle, we then walked into class
After classes, it was time for lunch, Shawn decided to sit with me since Hailey didn't show up today, and I decided to text her
Me- Hey Hailey, why aren't u in school?
Hailey- Hey Lauren, I got the chicken pox, srry if ur sitting alone :(
Me- no it's ok, I'm not sitting alone, get better soon, I'll ttyl :)
Hailey- ok ttyl byee <3
Me- byee <3
I then closed my phone, thank God she didn't ask me who I was sitting
"Who was it?" asked Shawn
"My best friend, Hailey" I replied, he then pretended to be hurt by putting his hand on his heart and had a shocked expression which made me laugh
"Stick with me, and I'll make sure you'll get to be my best friend soon" I said then I laughed and he gave me a smile
"You have a cute laugh" he said, I then looked at him with my 'Are you serious' look
"I dislike my laugh" I said hiding my face
"What's not to like about it?" he asked
I then gave him a smile and we continued on with our day
*Skip until the end of the school day*
"Hey, can I come over for a bit? Mom isn't home yet" asked Shawn
"Uh, I have to work at the diner" I replied
"When does your shift end?" he asked
"Well, my shift is for 2 hours so at 5" I replied
"I can come with you" he said, I then nodded and we went to his house for him to park his car at his house and ride at mine, he then sat down and strapped himself which made me shocked
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked looking confused then I started the car
"Nothing, it's just that, no offense but I didn't know the bad boy of the school straps himself and gets to be the good guy" I replied with a smile which made him chuckle
"To be honest, I'm trying to change for once, I hate being the bad boy, I did so many things I regret for popularity and I wanna stop and change for once" he replied looking ahead
"Well, you gotta take baby steps" I replied looking ahead as we were on the way home, I just needed to get the keys to my locker that's in my room
We finally arrived home, "do you wanna come in, Shawn? It won't take long" I asked and he nodded and thanked me
I went to the my room to grab my keys
"Make yourself at home, I just gotta get something" I said to Shawn and he nodded going to the fridge to get water, then sat down at the island
I came back from my room and decided to get a snack for both Shawn and I before we go to the diner
"Have you ever thought of having a boyfriend?" he asked
"No, probably because I'm invisible to every boy out there" I said
"You know, I'm a guy, so technically not EVERY guy out there doesn't know you exist" he replied which made me chuckle
"You're a guy?! I actually thought you were a girl!" I replied then laughed
"Oh really? I got GAINS" he said then flexed
"Those arms are flat, you know that, right?" I replied
"You serious, bro?" he asked jokingly making me laugh, then I nodded afterwards
He then got up from his seat and held me by the waist, pulling me closer to him
"Let me show you my true strength" he said still holding my waist, I got butterflies in my stomach, no, this can't happen, I don't even really know the guy, I started shivering really badly, he then picked me up and threw me on his shoulder which made me yell
"Put me down!" I said while laughing
"Not until you apologize!" he said while laughing as well
"Let go!" I said while hitting him in the back, but he didn't seem to bother, he then put me down on the couch and started tickling me on the stomach which made me burst into laughter
"Say sorry!" he continued tickling me
"Alright, alright, sorry!" I said then he stopped, which helped me take a breath
He then stared into my eyes and I did the same, he then started leaning in which made me shiver, I never had my first kiss, what if I mess up? What if I did something wrong? What if he doesn't like it?
"I still didn't have my first kiss" I blurted out
"Oh, sorry about that" he said then helped me up, feeling embarrassed making me giggle
"It's alright, you have a chance being my first, but I don't know you well enough" I replied, making him nod in agreement
We then left together to my car and went to the diner, what is going on with me?
A/N: Sorry for posting later than usual, but I was out with some friends (we have winter break, we started on Sunday) and I came back a few hours ago, I had some editing to do with other chapters that I will be posting soon
