“You have to be kidding” I say.
Niall shakes his head, grinning.
“I'm taking you on a date. I've gotten permission from the doctors and everything.”
I can't help but smile.
We've been on dates before, two other times, but I thought that was it. I thought I'd be stuck here until I died.
But no, I have the most amazing boyfriend in the world.
“Where are we going?” I ask.
His grin is even wider.
“Dinner and a film” he says. “With a twist. You'll love it, I promise.”
I know I will.
I just love being with him.
“I'll get you at six tomorrow night” he says. “Wear something pretty.”
“A hospital gown isn't pretty?” I ask, gesturing at my current attire. He laughs. “It's not funny, Horan, I'm hurt.”
He laughs harder.
I don't think he ever takes me seriously and I love it.
I love that he can still laugh and make jokes, because nobody else dares.
“You're beautiful no matter what you're wearing” Niall says, reminding me that he can be serious. “But I think people might stare.”
Never mind.
I snort, and then we're both laughing again.
I love laughing.

Paul makes me head home that night, but instead of going to my flat, I head over to Liam's. He answers the door before I can ever knock.
“Are you psychic?” I ask him. He shrugs.
“Come in” he says, stepping aside so that I can do just that.
“You alright, mate?” I ask, as I head into his kitchen. There's half of a pizza on his counter, and I head straight for that. “You seem distant. How's Callin?”
He sits on a stool at the counter, and I join him with a piece of vegetable pizza in my hand.
