Bed Of Snow

As I lay there on the ground snowflakes fall and the cold tucks me in covering  my body  in its cool  blanket

I'm warm. In my mind, I revert to a child because seeing it snow in December for the first time in what feels like  forever reminds me of the times when it has always been  this

Questioning my life in ways I never thought of, in ways I have never been  or have ever know as my body goes numb

Finding comfort in the icy heat that shrouds me, dreaming in the shadowy secrets of me

A journey begins looking at myself, taking every slow breath, I found peace at home in a place I've never been, dancing to the song of the fae calling me to play

Enchanted by this new freedom I explore the world flying through the midnight sky looking at  Places I have never been or once seen, seemingly starting  to be more like home

A beautiful confusion that engulfs my newfound senses  taking me somewhere nice in this never-ending nowhere land

Living in something that is not mine, I find that I don't even know what it is I was really searching for but it was something I wanted

Then it hit me like lightning to a tree, the chains that bound me to my body pull me back and I feel sad that it is coming to an end

Starting to feel the kiss of a snowflake on my check, opening my eyes, curling into a ball as the moonlight peaks through beckoning me to rise up

I contemplate my whole being, there in that place
