I JUST REREAD EMPIRE OF STORMS TO REFRESH MYSELF ON THE CHARACTERS AND TO GET MYSELF IN THE MOOD OF WRITING.

WHY DID I THINK THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA? I'M CRYING AGAIN!

ALSO

MAEVE KILLED AELIN'S FAMILY? POSSIBLY? WTF? (Yes I know everyone says it's the King of Adarlan who did it but who knows?)

OKAY I'M FINE. I'M FINE.

Also, I know this is later than a late thing and I don't have much of an excuse except I need to add more of the plot and am too lazy to do so (I do plot-writing in segments as to not overwhelm myself). But, I'm going to try holding myself accountable for such things, and have updates on my YouTube channel where I shamelessly advertise my stories and tell fans (wow "fans" sounds weird to say... Er, write) when to expect another chapter.

The moment Rowan left, Rhys turned to Aedion. "Rowan told me about the other situation, with the fae you found. Can I see them?" Aedion nodded once. The vagueness of the statement had everyone instantly interested. Rhys had withheld the information even from me, which made me feel wary of who they'd found.

"I'll have someone get them for you," he said, and looked back at one of the trainees behind him. He nodded once, and the tallest of the two disappeared into the castle. There was an awkward silence. Lysandra was shifting back into the form we were used to, and Aedion's eyes were fixed on her. I couldn't help but wonder if they were mates.

Remelle and Benson were still reeling over Aelin's identity, and a friendly conversation with Essar got me the full story of their initial, amusing meeting with Rowan's mate. Essar was kind, and easy to talk to. I could see myself becoming friends with her, if I ever got the chance.

I looked behind me, at my sisters, then Lysandra, and Cassian and Azriel and Mor, then Tamlin and Lucien. There was a tense peace between us all. It wouldn't last, not past this war. The moment we returned to Prythian, it'd be over. It was a bit of a shame to know that. While I wasn't sure I could forgive Tamlin, Lucien had been my friend. But I would deal with it. It was Lucien's choice whether he wanted to keep that friendship, and it seemed more often than not these days that he didn't want to be friends with anyone from the Night Court.

Essar was staring at Aedion with a peculiar look on her face. I glanced between them. Did they know one another? But Aedion's face showed no recognition when he finally glanced at her. "You're Aedion Ashryver," she finally said. "Aren't you? The Wolf of the North." I hadn't heard the title before.

"Yes," he said, his eyes narrowing. "Who are you?"

"You can call me Essar. My companions are Remelle and Benson." Aedion mouthed the names to himself, as if he recognized them, but before he could figure it out, Benson spoke up.
