Mommy why'd you leave?
He felt totally alone,
She can't believe,
He lost his soul,
She lost her family,
He's become so cold,
She has an internal scream;
Was it true love?
Could they never get enough?
Was it a gift from above?
Was it based on trust?
Or was it based on lust?
He stopped caring a long time ago,
She's forever crying,
He belongs to the shadows,
She's always lying,
He don't know where she goes,
She puts up a fight,
He's lost control;
Was it what we called true love?
Could they never get enough?
Was it all just lust?
Was there any trust?
A gift from above?
He can't take it,
She gives into the fear,
He fills like a dimwit,
She gives into the tears,
He feels like he's split,
She's wasted all these years,
In his own home he feels like a misfit,
Nothing left to say and she's got nothing left to hear;
Was it all just lust?
Was there any trust?
Could they never get enough?
Is there a such thing as true love?
A gift from above?
This can't be true love.
