say goodbye

You were there,
I was here;

You were a jock,
I was lonely;

But it started with your smile,
And it ended with me crying;

You made me feel something,
But I try to fight it and convince myself it was nothing;

You reached out your hand,
I gladly took it;
We soared high for years,
Forgetting our tears;

You got down on one knee,
I couldn't believe what I could see;

You whispered 'I love you,'
I whispered 'I love you too';

You grew happier overtime,
But there was something on my mind,

You asked me 'Are you feeling fine?'
I answer 'I'm about to die';

You shook your head vigorously 'Doctor's wrong, I'm calling her,'
The doctor said it was stage four cancer;

You started to cry,
So I held you close that night;

Every night you still hold me close to your body,
And I always recall that happy memory,

Everyday you still ask if I'm feeling okay,
And I always reply 'I'm here to stay.'

THE END!!
