Friendship

Times so long ago when I was lost,

I looked to my side to see if I was alone.

My suspicions were confirmed,

Not a friend in sight during this long and lonely night.

I had grown used to the silence,

Would you take the place of the cold inside of me?

So much time has passed before I felt okay again.

I got so used to the cold I did not recognize the warmth,

When it came to me so soon.

You rescued me from the lonely night,

When I realized how much I needed a friend.
