Heeelllo Africans. The African Writers Award 2018 is here and this year will be different from last year😛. In a good way though.

We will be having three awards this year. That is,three will be on from January to April, May to August and September to December.

Let's start with the rules first

1Your book must have at least five chapters excluding authors note.(except short stories)

2)Your book must be in English. Except we find a judge who understands your language.

3)Please follow this account Africanliterature

4)No bribing of judges. If you're caught,you're out of the competition.

5)This award is to help undiscovered authors. Therefore, books with over 50k reads will not be accepted.

6) Books that participated last year can participate again if they didn't win first place.

7)It has to be an African book but non Africans can nominate.

Addition
This year we will be having Special awards. Each genre will have;

1)Best female character
2)Best male character
3)Best couple
4)Best Cover
5)Best writer- male and female
6)best plot twist
7)best protagonist
8)best villain and

We will be having "Writer of the year"

Judging Criteria
Every judge must read at least five chapters of the books in their genre.

1)Cover /10-How beautiful is it?how well does it suit the storyline?

2)Story description/10-How good is the story description?

3)Prologue or first chapter/10-Does the book hook you in the first chapter?

4)Grammar and punctuation/10- how good was the grammar? What about the punctuation?

5)Originality/10- how realistic is the book and how did it end?

Second place

1)A second place sticker
2)Book added to second runner up reading list permanently

2)Book added to third runner up reading list permanently
3)One book cover
4)Vote on 1/4 of your book's chapter.

Writer of the year
1)A writer of the year sticker.
2)A trailer for the book.
3)Three book covers.
4)Two banners
5)Vote and comment on all chapters.
6)Book added to writer of the year reading list permanently
