Lifeless

Stiff and unmoving,

Breathless and immobile

Without life is the definition of this word

Ironic that life can be lifeless too

I am lifeless

Cold unfeeling dull eyes once full of life

Monotone voice that once was cheery and chirpy

Emotionless face that once was happy and shined a smile

Those days are no more.

4 years seem to be the trick to draining a human of happiness and joy

In this case anyway.

“New year new me”, they said.

“It’ll be a better year”

How can that be

When i’m crumbled and in tears?

I made new friends and had lots of laughs

But the “happiness” i feel is untrue

A facade, a charade i must play

To get through each and every day

So i don’t go across the street or down the road

So i don’t kick the chair from under me

I put on the mask to hide the empty soul

Crouched in a corner, weeping for each

Loss it’s experienced

Dull orbs gaze at their peers, no emotion

To be seen.

The eyes are a window to one’s soul

But the soul is non-existent

Where has it gone?

It vanished long ago.

A cold beating heart

It may beat, but its host is an undead

zombie, void of feeling or life.

They may breathe but they are lifeless,

They may speak but they hold no meaning,

They may blink, but they see endless suffering

They may eat, but they aren’t satisfied.

They may think, but there’s nothing

but empty thoughts.

Happy thoughts

Happy thoughts

Happy thoughts

No, there are none.

Only the void remains, draining us of life

And sustenance to feel.

For we have no emotions, feelings, and only feel

Empathy and listlessness

We are lifeless.
