Aaron felt like a china doll.
Everyone had to be careful around her so she wouldn't topple off that high shelf she was put on and smash into a million pieces on the floor. It was terrifying to her and was all she could think about.
When was she going to finally topple off that shelf and shatter?
Aaron lifted her eyes off of the cluttered surface of her bathroom sink to check her make-up, only to find that she was crying again. Quickly, she wiped them away and fixed her make-up for the second time. Her eyeliner looked terrible, but hopefully, no one would comment on it. Her eyes looked red and puffy, and she knew no amount of makeup could cover that up.
"Aaron? You ready to go?" Bella asked her sister who smiled at the green dress she was wearing, ignoring the look on Aarons face. She would flip she even gave a hint to it. Bella didn't do dresses which meant that she was only doing it to please Alice. A smile tugged at her lips before she quickly hid it at the sight of that necklace she bought her.
She saw it was like, 'Ooo, Bella has to have it.'
The broken girl nodded before grabbing her leather jacket off of the door handle. "Let's go," she commented shrugging the item on over her black dress that had skulls all over it. The girl didn't offer much of a conversation to her sister or to Edward who picked them up. "Where is Jasper?" she asked noting the lack of her boyfriend.
Edward opened the doors for the both of the girls. "He is at home, Alice needed help with something," he lied to her, not having the heart to tell her the real reason why he didn't want to come get her.
"Oh."
Silence overtook the three of them as they made the long journey to the Cullen's house. Okay, maybe it wasn't that long, but to Aaron, it felt like a century with the way she was feeling. She wanted to get better, she really did, but it was hard.
Jasper was waiting for her outside when they arrived. Aaron could instantly tell that something was wrong with him, but didn't comment on it as he pressed a kiss to her lips. She could just be overreacting, but his eyes did seem too dark. Panic began to set in, but she tried to shove it aside, for Bella and Jaspers sake.
"Hey," she said finally greeting him. "Is something wrong?" Followed when he didn't respond to her, only just staring at her. It was like he was trying to memorize every single detail about her. It didn't leave her with a good feeling inside of the girl.
He just smiled and pressed another longer and more passionate kiss on her lips. "Nothing, I just love looking at you," he told her before pulling her in for a hug. Now his actions were worrying her. It wasn't like him. "Let's go inside, they're about to start the party," he told her keeping one arm firmly around her waist as they walked inside.
Aaron raised an eyebrow at the hundreds of pink candles and rose-filled crystal bowls. The family looked up at the entrance of the two of them, Alice running over to the girl. "Do you think that she's going to like it?" she questioned with hope blazing in her eyes.
The girl didn't even get the chance to answer before Bella and Edward walked in. She noted that the expression on Bella's face looked like all she wanted to do was disappear from this nightmare, and honestly, Aaron felt the same.
Esme and Carlisle were the first to get to Bella. "Sorry about all this. We tried to rein Alice in," Carlisle told her making Aaron snort. That was a task all in itself. Esme followed by telling her husband that it was next to impossible to do that and wishing Bella a happy birthday.
Aaron rested her head on Jasper's shoulder, who pressed another kiss on her head, as Alice took a photo of the couple. It dawned on Aaron that her boyfriend was being extra clingy tonight which confused her tremendously. He never was this clingy, even when she was worrying him. He understood she needed her space sometimes. There was something going on with him and it scared her. She couldn't lose another thing in her life.
