Garroth x reader (a girl with two souls)

Yo, so I don't really watch aphmau anymore but this idea came to my head and it won't let me be so I'm writing it. If you watch RWBY then you will get the title reference. Also, this is based on season one (it's the only season where this story will make sense and I got disappointed when I watched the second half of season two and I get bored while watching season three) so if you remember season one Garroth got manipulated by Zane, but in my story, he doesn't go to the dark side but someone else does....

PS: you're a guard and you're in the guard tower in your room as well

I'm trying so hard not to cry loudly right now. The reason why is because Garroth finally got the guts to confess to Lord aphmau and of course, she accepted his feelings

Laurence was with me when it happened

Flashback

"(Y/n)!"

I turn to see Garroth running towards me "yes Garroth? Is something wrong?"

"No no! It's just that, I am finally going to confess to Lord aphmau!"

I feel my heart shatter, I should have known this day would come

He was always telling me how much he loved and adored aphmau not know how much I loved him

I force a smile "oh really? Why are you telling me this?"

"Oh right! I wanted to ask you what you think I should give her as I confess to her"

"Why don't you give her her favorite flowers? I think she would love that"

"Right! Thank you (y/n)!"

He pulls me into a hug

"You're the bestest friend a guy could ever ask for!"

A friend, that's what he sees me as.... Just a friend....

He runs off and I feel a hand lay on my shoulder

I turn to see Laurence

"Looks like he's gonna confess to her first"

"Laurence, are you okay?"

He quietly chuckles as his eyes fill a bit with tears

"My best friend is confessing to the girl I love so much, ha I've never been better"

He looks at me "but what about you?"

I pause and look at the floor "if she loves him back, why should I be in the way"

The present

Later after that Donna was telling everyone in the village that Garroth and aphmau are together now

It makes me cry even more knowing that I never had a chance to be with Garroth

All of a sudden nock at my door interrupts my crying

I hear Garroth from the other side of the door "(y/n)? Are you in there? I need to ask you something important"

I quickly dry my tears and try to act like nothing happened

"Just give me a sec"

I open the door "what is it?"

"(Y/n), why is your face all red? Were you crying?" Garroth asked. 

"Um, Yeah...." I responded trying to sound calm

"Why?"

"It's a long story, to sum it up, I was stupid and let my emotions get out of hand. It's no big deal." I fake smile to try to convince him that I'm fine
