Bits and Pieces

the train ride

I stepped into the train of thought
And watched the station fade
I head onwards to the goal i sought
To the happy ending we made

But there was something very wrong
As i gripped onto the rails
I realize you weren't coming along
With me on this endless trail

One by one, passengers alight
Till i was all alone
I reread my map, goal nowhere in sight
While I lost my way back home

The operator told me that i reached the end
But i refused to believe it was true
For all i needed was another bend
That would lead me back to you

I stepped off the train, heart crying in pain, and i never saw you again.
