She suddenly felt excruciating pain, similar to the pain of been bashed against a cliff. She found herself slightly paralyzed but soon enough she could move again.

She groaned slightly but still forced herself to sit up. The bed felt slightly odd, it felt soft, and there was so much room.

This wasn't hers.

Out of the corner of her eye she noticed a figure sleeping at the edge of her bed. He was sat on a wheel chair and he seemed to be of heaven defying beauty. The man had silver hair and his skin seemed to be slightly tanned but it gave him a glowing atmosphere. His sleeping face would make even a grandmother fall in love at first sight.

But he was sitting on a wheelchair, he was crippled.

Her brain pulsed and she found herself in pain once again as a series of images ravaged her mind placing unknown memories in her head. Memories of the duke's granddaughter. She found her self clutching her head trying to relief her pain and soon enough the man beside her was awakened by her agonizing groans.

"What is wrong Regina!?"

His name was Domnitor Regilor, her uncle and one of her closest family member.

He was around his twenties and had been a victim of the dragon war, the war the wiped down this world's population immensely. That was thirteen years ago. The war claimed Regina's parents and left her uncle crippled.

Now she was Regina, this was her past.

"I'm fine uncle."

The silver haired man breathed out a sigh of relief. "I'm sorry, if I had known your personal maid would do such a cruel act I would've gotten rid of her much sooner."

He found himself looking slightly dejected and Regina smiled to comfort him.

"I was useless, I couldn't even protect you, what if you died?"

She placed her hand on his and smiled to reassure him, the original had indeed died. "I'm ok uncle, there is no need for you to be hard on yourself."

Regina Regilor had been vain and a woman of little words. She had been self-centred and proud. As a child she was repulsive and abusive towards the staff that worked at her grandfather's manor.

Yet with all her shortcomings she still had a loving, doting family. The world truly isn't fair.

"But still, I could've done something to prevent all of it, yet I didn't. Instead I was blind to the maid's vile intentions and almost risked losing you."

He tightly clenched his fist and Regina found herself amazed by the amount of love showered on His niece.

She was said to be vicious and had many enemies in her own home. She was said to be prideful and arrogant, even evil and scheming. Yet her family hadn't given up on her or treated her badly. They still looked at her with loving eyes and a loving smile.

For all of this she pay them back and forever be in their debt. She found herself hugging her guilt filled uncle in appreciation. "Thank you, uncle."

Domnitor was dazed, his niece had said thank you to him multiple times, but this time it felt different.

It sounded grateful, yet sad and solemn. It sounded sincere and regretful, it had come from her heart.

He hugged back and smiled, maybe she was finally growing up.

The sound of the door knocking cut through the paternal bonding and the smile on Domnitor's face was immediately wiped off.

"Come in."
