MIAMI CAREFULLY BALANCED, Ever on her hip, as she kept a tight hold on August's hand while they walked the streets of Eastside.
It was surprisingly a warm day in New York. The streets were buzzing as always, food trucks were parked on almost every block serving those who stopped and gave them their time, people were scurrying along the sidewalks, while some stood posted up on their stoops enjoying the weather. It was just the end of September, meaning that the Summer was winding down and Fall would be making it's appearance pretty soon. But because the Fall and Winter seasons up here were rather harsh, the New York natives couldn't help but to take advantage of the warm weather days. Because they knew that when it was over, it was over.
"Mommy." Elijah Junior whined as he tried his best to get out of her tight grip. "I do it myself."
"No you can not." Miami shot him a look. "August don't start today please, can you just hold mommies hand until we get to where we need to go?"
August just stared at the side of his mother's face. His little self was tired of walking and he hated that he couldn't walk unless his hand was placed in hers. Though he didn't know the word for it, all he wanted was more independence. Ever liked being babied because as the girl—that was her thing, August couldn't stand it but Miami always seemed to baby him more because as an infant he was a Mama's boy, however once he became of age he grew out of it and only used it to his advantage when he felt necessary.
