{Uchiha Itachi x Reader} Konoha-012 [DISCONTINUED]

Chapter 3

Finally, our teacher arrives.

"Haruka Senju, Tamaki Yamada, Y/N L/N. Follow me," he says, scanning over us as we stand up and approach him. Without another word, he walks out the door, beckoning for us to go as well. I shove my hands in my pockets and pass Haruka, bumping him with my shoulder on the way out.

Once the four of us reach the Academy lobby, our teacher turns to us and gives an odd, crooked smile. "I'm Kazuto Shinonome. Catch me if you can."

With that, he smirks and bolts out the door. In the split second it takes for us to realize what happened, Shinonome is already almost out of sight. I turn to the annoyances and pull a taunting face before running out the door after our teacher. The feeling of the hard dirt road under my zori is nothing short of incredible as I chase Shinonome. Every time I lift a foot, it's like I'm floating.

Shinonome weaves between buildings, keeping up his pace perfectly. I continue to follow, noting the sound of Haruka and Tamaki's footfalls behind me. I begin to catch up to the sensei, and he clearly notices, because he jumps up onto a roof. Unfazed, I jump up after him, mentally thanking the years of running from authority with Naruto. The chase continues at high speeds until Shinonome slows to a stop on the roof of the Academy itself.

I stop in front of him and grin. "That was awesome."

"Y/N L/N, I take it?" I nod. "I'm very impressed with your speed and stamina. That was not an easy course, and you've hardly broken a sweat," he gives a small smile "I look forward to seeing and helping you grow. By the way, if you're interested, I can speak to a couple of specialists about one-on-one training for your kekkei-genkai."

"That would be nice...if it had awoken yet," I sigh.

"Hmm...Don't worry about it, L/N. I'm sure it's only a matter of time. With a bloodline trait like yours, you'll likely be the top genin of your year," Shinonomiya pats me on the shoulder reassuringly.

"Thanks, sir. I won't let you down." Even though the top genin will absolutely be Sasuke Uchiha, I add silently.

Just as I thought the last bit, Haruka and Tamaki arrive, both slightly panting.

"Welcome, Senju and Yamada. Y/N has given us a good example of speed and stamina. Haruka, you're fast, but your stamina needs work. Tamaki, I know you can do better. You definitely have extensive stamina." Our sensei says. "Now, I need the three of you to perform a teambuilding exercise."

My positivity drained out of me the moment he said that. "Sensei, can I be my own team?"

"No. It's literally just an introduction. Just introduce yourselves."

"I'll go first!" Haruka practically yells in my ear, "I like food and ninjutsu. I dislike Y/N and cats."

How can you dislike cats? I knew something was wrong with this little fuck...

"My hobby is trying to do wood style like my ancestor, Hashirama Senju!"

Hunh. Good luck with that. The first Hokage was the only shinobi who could do that.

"My dream is to destroy Sasuke Uchiha, the sole survivor of the evil Uchiha Clan!"

Ooooooof course it is. Good luck with that. Sasuke's the top of the class.

Tamaki introduces himself, sounding almost identical to Haruka, eliciting several eye rolls from me.

"I like genjutsu and taijutsu. I dislike annoying brats who get in my way. I guess my hobby is researching kekkei genkai. Recently, I read about Mei Terumi. She's a kunoichi from the Mist village who has two kekkei genkai, like me. Hers are different though. She can do corrosion style jutsu and vapor style jutsu. Anyway, my dream is to master my kekkei genkai like none before me."

Our sensei smiles and gives us an introduction, "My name is Kazuto Shinonome; you can call me Nome-sensei if you want to speak quickly. I like challenging my students. Dislikes? Got plenty: obnoxious brats who boast about things they didn't earn, arrogance and condescension, and people who don't try their best because they think just trying at all is enough."

He just described each of us! I gotta give him props, though. He's known us for all of twenty minutes and can already do that?! Wow.

"I don't really have any hobbies worth discussing. My cousin in Iwagakure is my best friend. And that Hatake prodigy and I hate each other. Can't even be in the same room as that absolute slice of stale cheese. That's it, then. First mission's tomorrow afternoon. Be there by 1:16. Don't be late. You'll pay," with a smirk and a gust of wind, Nome-sensei whisks himself away.

Mental note: remember Nome-Sensei's character traits for next week's report.
