Valentine's Day

Since your gift didn't come in on time, I thought I would write you something. I'm not sure what you'll think, but here goes nothing.

i wish to give you a sunflower 12 feet tall
half a dozen roses with all but a few thorns gone
a hand full of both yellow and white daisies
and a bushel of peonies

all together i hope these flowers not only remind you of me, but also of how bright you are. of the small pricks along the way. of how sweet you are to me. and lastly of the color you bring to the world and to my life.

i wish to give you a small assorted box of chocolates containing:
one sea salted caramel
one dark raspberry
one milk buttercream
one cashew brittle
and one coconut cream

with these chocolates i hope you remember all the sappy moments that have brought us closer together, all the bitter sweet moments, all the just right moments, all the fragile moments, and all the other not so tasteful moments that when put together have made our relationship what it is.

i wish to give you a teddy bear so soft that when you wrap your arms around it, your fears fade away
a scrapbook of all of our fondest memories, so that you never forget
a fuzzy pair of socks to wear when i am not there to keep you warm
and a ring half as much as you mean to me

but most of all afua, i wish to give to you a life time of laughter
of smiles and kisses
of staying in when we said we would go out
of holding your hand
of being patient
of understanding
and of loving you unconditionally
