Sometimes it's easy to forget

what your heart really wanted;

And instead follow logic and acceptance that

you'll never truly be happy,

unless you put yourself out there

with the chance of finding true love

and the chance of ending up broken.

The risk of this, no matter how strong

you turn out to be, is simply too high

to tune out your mind and let love lead.

And so it's easier to forget

than to regret

and it's easier to ignore the butterflies

than pick 'em off the beaten ground.

And it's easier to never feel love

than get

just a bitter taste.
