chp 9

Their days went like this....fighting over little things like a child......teasing each other......they didn't realize but they grew closer to each other......nandini was enjoying that phase and daadi was happy too seeing her laadla happy........it was normal day when manik went to office....he had to be there to record the show.....on the other side nandini and daadi were eating their breakfast when one call came....she rushed towards the landline and picked up the receiver to find a panic voice.....it was her mother

N: maa what happened.... (she too panicked)

Sa: wo soha (she stuttered)

N: Kia hua use (tensed tone)

Sa: she isn't well..she is vomiting from past 3 days and today ur maami found her unconscious in washroom .... we r taking her to hospital (she said in one go hurriedly)

She felt receiver slipping from her hand and  at the same time she felt daadi's worried voice

Ga: what happened nandini bache (caressing her sweat covered face)

N: daadi wo soha (she muttered)she is not well....hospital (she looked as she would cry any moment)

Daadi panicked but after sometime she composed herself.....she asked nandini to call manik so that they could go to them but his phone was switched off...daadi then asked nandini to stay at home and wait for manik while she went to the hospital.........nandini was pacing here and there in lounge....face coated with anxiety.....she was very tensed for her bestie......only praying for one thing that is soha's health....she tried calling manik two three times but his phone was switched off......she was getting irritated by all this but she knew it that he must be busy that's why he wasn't attending her calls....in these few days she forgot about her hatred towards manik.......she found him cute....she luved fighting with him..it was weird for her but still she had to admit that she was luving it.....she was lost in her thoughts when she found her cell ringing......she picked up the phone and it was daadi's call.......she informed her about soha' s condition and that soha was ill from their day of marraige.......her words started ringing in nandini's head and the more she thought about it the more she started believing that it was all bcz of their marraige......they were responsible for her condition........

On the other hand manik who was busy in recording his show......after recording it he came back to his office to find 15 missed calls from daadi and nandini.......he worriedly picked up the phone and started dialing their numbers but no one picked it......daadi was busy with soha while nandini threw her phone away angrily after seeing the caller id.......manik repeated the same process but failed...he hurriedly grabbed his wallet and car keys b4 running out of the office room...he was worried for both of them.........he was doing rash-driving but he cared less....the only thing he wanted was to see both of them safe and sound....meanwhile her phone beeped and it was daadi's message

Daadi: manik m in the hospital....soha isn't well....we were calling u for this only...now go to home as nandini is waiting for u at home and come here soon.....

He was stuck in traffic jam when he opened the msg and he got relief after knowing that they were fine but at the same time he felt bad for her....

Scene change

He opened the door of his apartment  and called nandini but no response....he proceeded towards the lounge and found a petite figure curled in ball form.....she didn't notice him.....he went more closer to her and found her sniffing...he got worried....he worriedly called her name 2 3 times to calm her but it only worsen the situation......he was left with no choice so he moved closer to her and wrapped his arm around her torso....he started rubbing her back and said

Ma: don't worry nandini soha will be fine.....u just pray for her naa (knowing about their bond he consoled her)

But nandini's  act made him shocked.....she pushed him away in disgust.... He never expected such reaction he looked at her and at that time their eyes met and he could see hatred in her eyes

N: ohhh shut up ye sab tmhare waja se hua hai.....ajj wo hospital tmhare waja se hai.....

Ma: mere waja se (stunned)... mene Kia Kia???

N: tmhe pta tha ke wo tmhe pasand karte thi but still tmne is ke sath aise Kia.....kyon dhoka dia use ......... agar use kuch hua to mein tmhe choro ge nhi (she roared....)

Manik looked at him in shock....he was hurt for sure.....his own wife was thinking that he was a play boy......... making him responsible for a girl's condition..... He dropped himself on nearby sofa with his eyes fixed on ground while she continued her blaming session.....when she was done manik just mumbled

Ma: m waiting for u in the car ....come soon and without any further delay he left the apartment  (he didn't for once tried to clear her misunderstanding.......it hurted him....for the first time her words hurted him )

After sometime she came and then manik drove towards hospital.....both were quiet during the Journey.....manik didn't try to talk unlike other times... they both went towards their family.....they met everyone and asked about soha......by that time soha was fine....they sighed in relief...... nandini was relieved and was observing manik's every move.....the way he was behaving with her parents....giving them their due respect....he was talking to her parents when their eyes met and nandini smiled at him but manik just turned his face to opposite direction without giving any reaction......she sighed mentally slapping herself knowing  that her words made him angry..............

Scene change

Mahesh khuranna was pissed of at him.....he didn't want him to come but he controlled himself bcz they were in hospital and he didn't wanna create an issue out of it......after sometime MANAN got up to meet soha but as soon as Mahesh saw manik getting up he said

Mah: where r u going (curtly)

Ma: going to see soha (unaware of his anger)

Mah: is dfa to wo bach gye dobara us ke samne jake use maarne chahte ho.....kia gunah Kia hai mere bete ne......chor do hmare jaan....nhi zaroorat hme tmhare (folding his hands in front of him getting irritated)

Soh: Mahesh ye aap Kia keh rhe han...is bechare ki Kia ghalti hai (trying to protect his nephew)

Mah: Kia ghalti hai is ki (he stressed those words).... Mere bete marte marte bachi hai aur tm poch rhi ho Kia ghalti hai is ki...... wese bhi is jese shakhs (person) se umeed bhi Kia ki ja skti hai usne to apne maa baap ka Khayal bhi nhi Kia tha (his voice held hatred for him....)

While everyone was standing at their places stunned not knowing what to do....how to handle the situation....they were looking at manik who was standing there defeated..he just said the thing which manik never wanted to hear..he mentioned about his parents...his face was red and after few seconds they saw few tears slipping down his eye wetting his cheeks.....daadi came forward and put her hand on his shoulder but he turned and said

Ma: m fine daadi.....(wiping tears of his face and after that he stormed out of hospital.....nandini wanted to meet soha but she couldn't leave him like that also so she ran after him )
