Kneeling by his head, Raine tapped his cheeks but got no response.
"Wait" Sierra said removing her gloves, "let me try" and eyes glowing placed her hands on his arm. "He is asleep and yet awake" she said turning to look at the others in wonder.
"As I said, he'll be fine. Step back please" The High Priest said coming to join them and the children slowly climbed to their feet to make way for him.
All of them except David.
His eyes glowing a deep red, his skin changed to a leathery red and fangs dropped out of his mouth in a deep snarl. "The boy is mine"
Raine gasped dragging Sierra behind her while Nick crouched to his feet ready to attack the demon.
"Don't!" Yelled the high priest as he held out a hand to suspend Nick in the air. "You will hurt your friend. Both of them" he said pointing at David's tail already coiling around Keane.
"Once again you're too late" he laughed, sharp ragged teeth gleaming white in the moonlight and coiled his tail tighter around the unconscious boy. "This time I'll win" he said and disappeared with his prize.
