After several years, they met again.

She almost cried as he looked at him—the guy who wasted her. She remembered how he never exerted effort, how she was his least priority, and how he treated her badly.

Yet she smiled as he greeted her, still thankful for those times. If it weren't for him, she wouldn't be able to write and encourage other women to know their worth. If it weren't for him, she wouldn't meet the man who loved her more than she thought she deserved.

He smiled as he looked at her—the lady whom he took for granted. He remembered how she fell deeply in love with him, exerting effort and prioritizing him all the time.

Yet he almost cried as she greeted her, for he knew he could never go back in time. She was the best he had, but he knew he could never have her again. He regretted  being stubborn, but it was too late, and it was time to move forward. She was, no doubt, the one who got away.
