I don't plan on this being a long story. I'll try to go for as long as I can but don't expect much. sorry 😳, but I'm writing this on my phone so excuse any and all spelling or grammar mistakes. Now for a little info dump. _________________________________________ Shades are creatures of darkness, often associated with evil for their appearance. They can be compassionate and caring, as well as cruel and ruthless. They can manipulate the shadows in any way they see fit, turning them into blades sharp enough to cut diamond, move through the smallest of places, or even weave them in to clothes (this was found out by accident), they can take take human form, and are fiercely loyal to those they love. But if you betray that trust, they won't even let your soul survive. In human form they can look like you or me (meaning you can't tell they aren't human), in shadow form they can Change to be humanoid or not. Sunlight is deadly to them in shade form (though the other methods of killing one have been lost in time leaving only the shades with the knowledge), and their eyes are an indicator of emotion (but only in shade form. Here's a picture of a jealous one).

Their population has reached near extinction due to a global "cleanse" by religious fanatics, almost 2000 years ago following a crazed shade going on a rampage, destroying a few town before it was stopped. As you can probably guess, you are a shade in this story. _________________________________________
You were walking down a street in Boston, Massachusetts. "I need a job bad." You said to no-one in particular. "It's not like one is going to just..." "Wanted, security night guard. Age between 18 & 25. Freddy's anime convention. $800 a week. Located between main street and 3rd avenue." You were dumbstruck. Then you start to chuckle as you make your way to the convention. It took you about 15 minutes to get there. When you went in, you noticed that the population of the joint was primarily 17-30 year old guys, and that several people were practically drooling on themselves looking at the stage. 'What are they...' you think. As you turn your head to the stage you see 2 girls. One was singing,

"Oh." He said rolling his eyes. "Hi there." ??? "Gah!" You jump and turn to your right an see a girl standing next to you.

"Did I scare you?" She said in a flirty voice. You ignore the question. "Can you take me to your boss, please?" You ask bluntly. "Why?" "I'm here to apply for the job opening." "Ah," she seemed sad for some reason. "This way." The 2 of you walk down a hall way to a door with the word MANAGER on a steel plate. "Here you are" she said and walked away. You knock on the door and hear a "Come in" from inside. You walk in and close the door behind you.
