Kellin's POV

Alan was being jittery and irritated today. It of course meant that he wanted nothing to do with anyone and had already snapped at me once. I was honestly ready to punch him in the face but that was probably a bad idea, all things considering.

"Will you calm down?" I said.

He rolled his eyes at me and just ignored me.

I elbowed him. "You can talk to me, you know?"

"I know."

"What's going on?"I asked him, we were currently in English class but it was just a quiet reading time.

"Family stuff."

"Wanna talk about it?"I said, feeling like maybe, just maybe I could get Alan to open up to me.

"No."

I nodded and sighed, I'd get him to open up eventually.  I mean he'd have to especially since he was stuck with me all the time. I bit my lip and looked around the room, sometimes, I felt kind of pathetic. I was already sorta thinking of Alan as my best friend, my only friend aside from Vic really, and he didn't even like me that much.   Or at least he acted as if he didn't really like me. I couldn't really tell with him, he was just an ass half the time, and then the other half I had to fight him to get him to talk to me.  People were just confusing in general.

"I have that date with Vic today and I'm nervous." I wrote down and slid it to him.

"You do?"

I nodded. "We're going to get dinner tonight."

"Get some dick," He wrote then shrugged.

I snorted and shook my head. "I'm totally not ready for that, yet."

"It's better when you get the first time out of the way."

"It's too soon."

"Sometimes meaningless sex is the best kind."

I shook my head. I didn't agree with that, I wanted my first time to be at least somewhat meaningful.

"Well have you even like kissed someone?" He signed.

I shook my head. "I've never been in any kind of relationship before. I just learned I like guys."

"Makes sense."

I blushed, I was so behind on this aspect. I'd never really even given it thought and now here I was going on a date with someone for the first time in my life. It was scary and overwhelming but I loved it.   And Vic was great and a super nice guy. He was sweet and nice and for some weird reason didn't even care that I couldn't hear him and oh god, I wanted to hear him one day.   That would be the best day of my whole life.

Alan eventually nudged my arm, shaking my from my thoughts. "Class is over," he grumbled.  I nodded and got up following him out of the room.

As soon as I stepped out I ran right into Vic who smiled at me. "Just the guy I wanted to see," he said and glanced at Alan but stayed facing me. "Kellin will see you in class, Ashby," Vic told him and took my hand before leading me away.

I watched as Alan didn't even try to stop Vic at this point.

"Where are we going?" I scribbled as we walked and handed him the paper.

"It's a surprise."

I scowled but didn't say anything and followed him until he led me into the library. I gave him a confused look and glanced around. I pulled my phone out and texted him, asking why we were even here.
