The dark cellar of a room was moist from the constant rain we've gotten. The small space was enough for all of us to fit as the candle light flickered in the dark, casting shadows over our grim faces.
The sound of foot steps above our heads silence us, the elderly and the children were crying and the smell of blood filled the village. Julian would send his trusted clan members to search villages to find the three of us, they'd kill or kidnap and torture for the fun of it. Not for answers, just for fun.
Julian and his clan were the same as before — disgusting killers. He wanted us desperately, he had to kill what he started, had to rid the world of the one's who know the truth.
Dust dropped between the floor boards as one of the clan members searched the empty house. I glanced at baby Christian in my arms and smiled, he wore a small smile in his sleep, the precious baby boy that I was holding was being hunted along with Stark and I. What a life to bring a child into, but I would always protect him, no matter what; he was my precious son, the one who changed my life.
"Clear!" A man shouted. I flinched and Stark rubbed my back.
I licked my lips and listened closely making sure he had left the house, that's when I heard it—a woman cried louder than the rest.
Her sobs were ear piercing and heart breaking. The gasps in between her cries told me that she had just lost someone important; someone we let die, once again.
"No! Don't take him—Stay away!" A woman cried.
I winced and ducked my head to try and ignore the desperation her voice. I wanted to go help, to take my chances and save someone; anyone.
I was sick of hearing people die, people cry, and never see certain people ever return. Julian meant buisness, he was trying to kill off the last of us, to prevent his down fall as King.
Stark shifted slightly and leaned against the cement wall with his hands folded in his lap. He closed his eyes and I chewed my lip.
He wanted to do the same. These were the people who allowed us to stay here—kept our secret even though they were in danger.
"Come out, come out where ever you are. I know you're here Samantha." Julian taunted. I stared at the ceiling and held Christian close to my chest.
I heard his footsteps approaching, closer and closer until they were directly above us.
"I will find you." He whispered.
