I woke with a jolt. My whole body trembled as the effects from the drug wore off. I tried to sit up and was instantly pulled back to the bed with a rattle of metal.
I was chained to the bed. Held captive by the monster I thought I had escaped. We hid, ran, and covered our tracks just to be set back to the beginning.
I groaned as I pulled on the chains. Unbreakable. Figures.
Julian wasn't going to let me escape; the chains were strong ― stronger than a vampire.
I continued to test the chains. The floor under the bed creeked and suddenly Julian was standing in the doorway, leaning against the frame.
His green eyes glowed happily as he watched me struggle.
"Idiot. You can't escape from them ― I had them custom made." He chuckled and approached me slowly.
My body tensed as he sat on the bed.
"This isn't funny, Julian. Let me go." I growled.
He laughed and inched closer; his face stopped an inch away from mine as he smirked.
"Can't do that princess, you're needed here. Before I explain it to you, have a little taste." He licked his lips and brought his wrist to his mouth and chomped into his flesh.
I turned my face away but he pressed his bleeding wrist to my lips and forced my jaw open.
I gasped and tried to kick at him. The warm liquid glided smoothly over my tongue and down my throat.
I glared at him and attempted to shake him away.
"Just accept it. I can't have you running around hungry; I need all the servants that I have." He bit his lip and gave me a cocky wink.
I frowned as my fangs pierced his skin begging for more. I groaned and he smiled.
He seemed different. As if he wasn't actually Julian but an Imposter.
"O-okay!" I pulled myself away and licked the blood from my lips. Julian nodded and licked the rest of the blood from his skin. "Explain, please."
"Of course," He sighed. "I brought you here for a reason. Firstly; I thought that you had been killed which would have foiled my whole plan."
"What plan?" I asked.
"Let me finish," He frowned, "I was given some information on the woman Stark's ex, apparently she's known to be quiet ― pesky. Stark is fully aware that it was her and her daughter who stole your son."
"She took him because I wouldn't allow her to take Stark away." I mumbled.
"False. Stark was actually aware of her intentions. He allowed it to happen so that we would lose track of the three of you. What wasn't part of their plan was you being captured nor was it part of their to come back for you." Julian explained.
I froze, my body shook at his words. It wasn't possible, was it? Stark wouldn't act like that, or would he?
Sure, Stark and I seemed rushed to be together but I fell in love before I was even sold off to Julian. But, did Stark truly fall in love with me?
"W-wait! You're lying!" I shouted. He shook his head and sighed as he stood.
"They want Christian's powers ― his abilities. As do I, I won't lie. Christian is the key to the end of the world; both vampire and human will be destroyed. If Christian becomes any older he will surely be the one to destroy us all." Julian turned to leave but I bit my lip and shouted in anger.
"I can't believe this! I'm a fool! I trusted him; I loved ― love him. I never thought that he would do this, to stoop so low! I expected it from you but from him?! Ugh!" I shouted.
Julian glanced at me with a frown and rubbed his face.
"Thanks, I think." He muttered.
"I haven't chose to believe you, but, I'll consider the fact that he betrayed me." I sighed and sank into the bed. I allowed my emotions to take over; I was in a slump of depression.
What kind of life have I lived? One of pain, torture, happiness, fear, abd betrayal.
That sums it up.
"Good," Julian stalked to the door and glanced over his shoulder at me, "Just remember; don't forget who I really am and what I have done."
I hesitated for a moment. He left without hesitation while I was in thought.
Why would he say that? What was he hiding? Why bother to warn me, he was the same old Julian, right? The monster with no remorse.
I sighed and rattled the chains in frustration.
"What the hell." I muttered. He peaked my curiousity knowing very well that I would dig deep to find the answers that I needed.
I was being led through the dark by a man I couldn't trust but had no other choice. He had the truth and I will follow until I get it.
Was it really okay though, to follow the man who did so much harm. At this point; Julian was someone that I could and might possibly trust ― there's just something about him that seems to different, as if he actually has changed.
But, that would be impossible. A vampire who has killed thousands without remorse just proves that he had no emotion.
I was flooded with questions and doubts.
Stark wouldn't do something like that, he would never betray me just to get his hands on my son ― unless that was his plan from the moment he found out that I was pregnant; to deceive me from the beginning so I had no doubts. Or Julian was lying in order to find them so he could kill my son ― the boy he rejected.
I cried at the thought of the man that I love betraying me. The warm tears stained my cheeks lile haunted memories which used to have a different meaning.
I was lost, in an endless loop of pain I called life. I cried every ounce of life I had in me to forget the past, to forget every part of me.
I stared silently at the ceiling as silent tears escaped from my dull eyes; and then everything stopped.
There was no pain, no sadness, nothing.
I was free.
