Would this trap really work?

A part of me wondered if Stark would come for me ― or was he truly using me for my son.

Our love not only happened quickly, but it definitely was odd that a vampire would be so sweet and caring.

His brother, Christian said that Stark loved me, or maybe this was their plan?

No. Christian wouldn't have given his life for mine if Stark didn't love me ― or would he?

Julian was in my head. Latching his accusations onto me like a leech. I sighed and paced the room with my arms folded against my chest.

"Julian? Can I ask some questions?" I called through the house, knowing that he was near.

"Of course, my darling Samantha. Anything." He approached the room and dug his hands into his pockets.

I rolled my eyes at him and leaned against the wall.

"Why are you afraid of our son?" I asked.

He raised a brow and licked his lips.

"Such a tiny being, shouldn't and can't contain so much power. I have no idea how we ended up in this kind of situation but it could end badly for everyone." He replied.

"You went psycho, remember? But, what if we can control it and make sure he doesn't ―"

"We can't." He cut me off.

I frowned and studied him. His posture was off and his eyes were focused on the window behind me. I raised a brow curiously and cleared my throat.

"Julian, I'm not satisfied with your answer about your daughter. Stop dodging these things. If you want me to trust you, I have to know." I mumbled.

"In time. You must be patient for now," He chewed his lip and turned on his heel, "Is that all?"

"Julian, what the hell am I doing here? I know that I won't be luring anyone ―"

Julian clamped his hand over my mouth and brought his lips to my ear.

"Shh, I don't need Zoey to hear you. Just wait, you and I will head out into public and sooner or later Stark will fall for it. So will Azaria." He muttered.

I nodded and met his unwavering gaze. For a minute there he was, the old Julian, run by hate and anger.

I sighed. Nothing seemed to make sense anymore; everything was all over the place. I couldn't wrap my head around it and figure it out.

Julian was hiding, behind the man from earlier, in order for me to stay. He needed me here so he could finally catch Azaria.

"Sorry." He muttered and took a step back and headed for the door. I bit my lip to stop myself from doing something stupid but apparently stupid is my middle name.

"Wait." I called. Julian froze in place and glanced over his shoulder; his forest green eyes glowed as he watched me.

"Yes?" He asked.

I closed my eyes and rubbed my face in frustration.

"Let's go do this thing. Make a little trip to the slave shop like the old days, right?" I asked.

Julian chuckled and shook his head.

"I already have one, she's having some fun in the cellar. I was thinking more of a picnic, at a club." He smirked.

I licked my lips and sighed. He was waiting for a reaction, anything.

"I agree. Food in a club sounds fantastic. Dinner and a show, perfect idea." I purred.

Julian raised a brow and nodded to himself as if trying to comprehend what had just happened.

I walked past him and he grabbed my wrist.

"You have rules to follow. Pretend to be afraid and act helpless." He mumbled. I nodded and shot him a smile.

"Of course. Here, carry this. It'll seem lile you are injecting poision into my veins and that's why I can't escape." I handed him a syringe full of well, poision.

Julian hesitated for a moment and shoved it into his pocket.

"Clever girl. How do you know that I won't actually use it on you?" He asked.

"Well, you have to. We're going to make all of this look real. Just do it at the right moment and then bring me back here." I smiled.

"What does this do to a vampire? This poision smells like the cheap stuff; what if something happens?" He asked.

"Well truthfully speaking, I believe that I'll get all weird before passing out, just let it happen. The posion takes a minute or two before it kicks in." I admitted.

Julian nodded and took the lead. His posture changed again, along with his attitude.

"Come, let's go." He growled and squeezed my arm. He pulled me to the car and shoved me inside.

"Easy bad boy, save some for later." I mumbled. Julian chuckled and started the car.

"Right. Anyway, word will travel fast. I had a servant spread a rumor of us, and where we'll be. If Stark doesn't show then we'll have to be more public. Sound like a plan?" He sighed.

"Alright, just don't get too crazy. I don't know how much I can handle." I admitted.

Julian nodded and nodded. I stared out the window as I watched trees, fields and buildings pass in a blur.

"My scientists are already working on a serum to keep Christian from growing into his power. I just hope it works." He mumbled.

"I want to see my son grow up, to become a man. Julian, we can work this out. We can contain his power ―"

"No we can't! My father tried, with my twin brother. It was impossible. There was a chance one of my children were to be born this way and it happened ― it's my duty to handle it.

I sat in silence ― allowing his words to sink in. The moment I realized what he had said we had arrived at the club.

"You had a ―"

"Yes. Leave it at that. The father must take care of the mess he made. I plan to do it, hopefully in a non violent way." He mumbled before opening the car door.

So his father killed Julian's twin brother? Maybe that's why he's so fucked up. His father did some awful things, and so has he.

Only, Julian seems to be healing, and allowing himself to change.

This was truly a new side of him.
