About a month later, Colin, Jen, Lana, Jack, Ginny, Josh, Hailee, Oliver, Jen's mother and stepfather, and Julia all crammed into Jen and Colin's living room. Julia played with Hailee and Oliver on the ground, Jen sat in Colin's lap, her geet resting in Lana's, while jack sat next to his stepmother. Judy, Jen's mother and David, her stepfather took a smaller couch, Ginny and Josh had dragged in chairs from the dining room. Well, Colin had insisted on getting Ginny's, and Josh took his own before his friend could protest. The conversations flowed naturally, and no one noticed Jen's subtle habit of placing her hand on her stomach at random times. Hailee would be one in three months, and was crawling and pulling herself up, using furnature as balance. Hailee pulled herself up on the coffee table, and Julia gasped.
"She does that?" Julia asked.
"Been doing that for a couple weeks, and sometimes she lets go, but she can't walk yet." Jen explained.
"Hailee, come see Mommy!" Colin called. Hailee reached out, but didn't take a step.
"Come on, Hails." Jen called, sliding onto the ground closer to Hailee. Ginny was recording, as usual, as Hailee took her first shaky step towards her mother.
"She's doing it!" Colin exclaimed. Hailee took another step before losing her balance and falling into her mother's arms.
"Good job, baby!" Jen exclaimed, picking Hailee up and kissing her cheek. Hailee giggled and clapped her hands, something she always did when her parents praised her.
"Hey, Hailee, do you want a baby brother or sister?" Julia asked, out of the blue. Jen's breath hitched in her throat as she looked to her daughter, who was still too little to understand questions. She simply climbed out of her mother's lap and crawled to her aunt. Jen's hand was placed on her flat stomach again. Lana gasped, but bit her tounge, though judging by the look on Colin's face, he knew too.
"Damn, you do everything together." Lana whispered. Jen just rolled her eyes, knowing exactly what her friend meant. She placed a finger against her lips to tell her it was a secret.
"You know, last time we really talked about having a kid you proposed. When I was pregnant with Hailee, we didn't talk, we just knew." Jen smiled.
"I did, didn't I?" Colin asked, pecking her lips. Jack threw a pillow at their backs jokingly, making everyone laugh. Jen smiled at him, and he just shrugged. She rolled her eyes, then leaned her head on Colin's shoulder.
"Can we just tell them?" Colin whispered in his wife's ear. Jen pulled away for a moment to think. Slowly, she nodded. "All right, we've got an announcement!" He called. All attention was turned to the couple, including Hailee's. Jen froze. She didn't know why, but she looked straight into her husband's eyes, to calm herself before she turned to her parents. Lana almost screamed, watching the two delay it as long as possible.
"I'm pregnant again." Jen finally blurted out. The room erupted into cheers, and a few jokes from their friends.
"Another? Already? Is that safe with your lung?" Ginny asked gently.
"Risky, but more frequent doctor's visits and the doctors said it looked pretty good. They said I had an extremely fast recovery. Usually, you're supposed to wait a year, but they said we should both be fine." Jen expalined. Ginny nodded and Julia almost tackled her with a hug.
"God, Jules, be careful! There's a baby that kind of needs air in there." Colin joked. The whole room laughed, and Jen stood to hug her mother.
"You found yourself a good one, my love." Judy whispered.
"Oh, Mom." Jen smiled as her mother kissed her forehead. This was when she realized that like Emma, she had found her happy ending, and it wasn't just Colin, it was Hailee, Lana, and all of her castmates, and her parents, her siblings, it was all of the people around her tha made her who she was. They had all put a little bit of light into her world, and now she was the happiest shw thought she'd ever be, in her husband's arms, holding her baby, with another on the way, surrounded by people who loved her. And that was Jennifer Morrison's happy ending.
THE END
A/N: Don't worry, there's still an epilogue coming up. And a sequel.
