We made our way into the school and headed to registration with Mrs Kim.
Sarah was smiling into her phone while we were walking, presumably texting 'Ace'.
'What are you so smiley about Parker?'
It was Rebecca, standing tall in front of us, blocking our path with her minions.'Why do you care Smith?'
'I don't. I just hate seeing you happy.'
'Likewise.'
'Funny.'
'Shut up.' I chimed in.
'Oh and look who it is, little miss Johnson. The perfect, angelic one, sticking up for her trampy friend.'
'I'm not, and don't dare say anything about Sarah like that.' I was beginning to get angry, Sarah surprisingly remained silent at the remark.'Aw the baby is getting angry.'
I scolded and said 'Shut up you prick.'
'I thought children weren't supposed to swear?'
'You're such a bitch, Rebecca, just leave it will you?' Sarah said.
'Not. A. Chance.' She turned to her.My blood began to boil; I hated being spoken down to like that.
Rebecca thought she was great, she picked on those she thought inferior of herself; so literally every girl in her sight. She was a prick and so was her boyfriend, Cory. They were caught having sex in the bathrooms by Mr Lee last week. I heard that Dylan told him what they were doing and now Cory had it in for him.We went to leave but she, along with her minions, stopped us in our tracks.
'When did I say you could leave?'
'When did you become my mother?' I chimed back.
'Oh hilarious Johnson, now shut up will you, I'm getting a headache.'
'Must be from you realising how thick you really are.'
'You're a bitch, Isabelle. A bitch.'
'That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me Rebecca, thank you.' I put my hand on my heart and pretended to feel emotional. The only emotion I was feeling at that minute was hatred. She slapped me across the face, leaving me stunned and my cheek stinging.
'Aw, is the baby going to cry? Go on and find your Mummy.' She smiled a wicked smile.I glared at her before launching myself at her, taking every piece of anger I had out on her 'perfect' face.
I slapped her and punched her until she was red and blood pouring from her nose. She tried to fight back by punching my nose but it was no use; what strength she had was in her head and what strength I had was in my fighting. She looked to her right and dropped her fists.
'MISS JOHNSON MY OFFICE NOW!'
Mr Lee. Great.
'I'm not finished, Rebecca. Only starting.' I looked down at her from my standing position, her still laying on the floor.
'Bitch.' She spat back at me.
I smiled at her comment and walked on, blood trickling from my nose.I looked to where Me Lee was standing in the corridor only to see Dylan trailing behind him.
Was he in trouble too?
He stared, surprised at my beaten face.I ignored him and walked past after Mr Lee.
'Mr O'Neill just because another student has to be punished doesn't mean you get out of your punishment, hurry up.'
I looked behind to see him trying to catch up with Mr Lee's brisk pace. His nose was bloody and his eye was beginning to turn black.
Guess Cory got him.We both walked into Mr Lee's office and sat down in the two wooden chairs opposite his comfortable office chair.
'Isabelle I'm surprised with you, what happened?'
'She's a bitch and doesn't know it, had to teach her a lesson.'
'I don't appreciate sarcasm Miss Johnson. What really happened?'
I retold the events of the last five minutes with as much accuracy as possible.'Okay, and Mr O'Neill? What about you?'
He told the principal of how Cory, Rebecca's boyfriend, had slammed him against the wall and punched him and how he had to return the favour so beat the living shit out of him.
I smiled at his last remark.'I don't find the situation funny, so why do you, Miss Johnson?'
'I have a sense of humour..' I muttered making Dylan laugh to himself.
'What was that?'
'I don't know, sir.''Right, detention after school all this week... wait even better; you can clean the bathrooms after school instead. Sounds fun, doesn't it!'
'I preferred the first one, to be honest.' Dylan said for the first time since his retelling of events.
'And that's precisely why I chose the second one; because if you just sit in a classroom for an extra two hours then you won't learn a lesson will you?'
We didn't reply because we knew he was right.'Ok, I'll be calling both your parents to tell them if your behaviour and I think that should be all for today children. You can go now. Goodbye.' He picked up his phone and called his secretary.
We both got up from our chairs to leave the office.
'Dorris, get me Isabelle Johnson and Dylan O'Neill's parents on the phone, please. Thank you.' And hung up.We shared a glance and both left to go our separate ways.
'See you then?' Dylan said, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, taking me by surprise.
'Yeah, see you then.' I said in return, giving him a slight wave and turning right down the corridor.I had missed registration so went to my first class instead; Art.
Why did he seem nervous when he said 'see you then'? No I shook my head it wasn't me he was nervous about it was the fact he had been in trouble, wasn't it?
