1. Where am I?

Opening my eyes I saw Mini sun burning just above my eyes few inches away, Is this gonna swallow us so soon? Confused I freaked out loud "Awwaaaa-"

"What the hell is wrong?" Running towards me came a human in a white coat. A Human!??

Now, I'm more scared of this creature standing in front of me than the sun. Following this white coat human came three more humans inside but were dressed differently, aren't they shorter than any of our mermaid of my age in the sea, but for now,

I'm Gonna Die. Wait, Where is water? the sea? I am also not swimming, The sun seemed brighter than how it appears from inside the water to us,

Then How am I alive till now!?

Why is this white coat human touching my head? Why is he staring me so confusingly deep in my eyes, maybe because I'm different and they're gonna cut me into pieces or preparing to perform very painful experiments on me.

I still wonder how am I alive till now. I'm still lying down on this highly raised surface from the ground, But still this mini sun isn't that scarry now.

"It's just a light bulb dear child, don't scream like this. It won't hurt you" The white coat man says, I can understand whatever they're saying, But unable to pronounce the same. What is this language called?

I don't know how to respond, I feel like sitting up straight now,

By putting some effort I finally was looking at my legs, sitting straight" LEGSS!!??? . THE HELL!

"AAAAA-" Now that I notice, my skin isn't that soft either, But looking at these legs tears pooled up in my eyes making the vision blurry.

"Man! what's wrong with her? why does she freaks so much. My ears are starting to hurt now. Go and see what she needs now" The human in front of the white coat human said giving him an irritating expression. And the white coat human ran towards me

"What happened, dear?" When he looked at me I pointed towards my pair of legs, I don't like these. I want my lovely long tail back. These legs are so short that I'm probably gonna look short in front of these evil Humans. My Bad

How am I gonna go back my home now? I was now crying loudly that everyone came and circled around me.

What is this place? My heart aches

These people Walk. But how am I gonna do that, these legs are my weakness. My tail is my strength or was my strength, now I'll have to make my weakness my strength

"She's just scared looking strangers all around, trust me she'll be alright once she's settled with all, Sir"
Why his face tells me the white coat human is scared of other humans

"I don't care, until her body works fine. No defects" He's glaring at the white coat face

I, on the other hand, observing my fingers which have been shortened and are not sharp, pointed and long like before, they aren't as soft as they were before in the ocean.

In a really weird and strange manner, with certain effort I brought my legs in front of my eyes and much closer to my face to get a good look of them, a strange feeling made me want to touch them and so my fingers were now playing with the fingers and toes of my feet,
I could part both of my legs, woah. It's like an octopus having only four tentacles.

I'm sure there are Mirrors on the Land. The ships which sunk deep in the oceans do have things like these. I'm sure they have more copies of whatever we aquatic beings saw and observed.

I want to see my body reflecting in that shiny thing.

I brought all of my fingers to my face. I could feel my nose raised. A F*cking NOSE!! I ran my fingers along the outline of its blunt peak.. two holes. I could feel my ears plucked out. I pulled them, pinched them, just to feel which one felt much pain.

I grabbed my hairs and brought them in front of eyes just to see if they're still normal too or they changed too.

They're still shiny, long dark blue hairs, but the difference is they aren't floating anymore, they're so dry and soft but fluffy.

I was so fascinated with all this new appearance that I didn't observe or noticed anything around me

But then I lifted up my head, I saw these two scary humans looking at me like they had seen something crazy.

Am I looking that scary!??

"Pick her up, She doesn't look like she is in a condition to walk"

"Heyy, can you walk? "
What? its so uncomfortable moving with them?

"Looks like she isn't in a condition to speak also."

"Didn't she freaked out just a while ago!?"

"I think she's scared, why don't you work on that face of yours, look she got scared of You"

"Shut up. And get her ready"

"Hmm, we need to take her to the boss and if he permits, she'll freshen up there and then she'll be kept with other girls for the auction"

Suddenly one of the humans tried to pick me up but I quickly crawled back, trying to step back and making a feared face I tried to prevent them from touching me, still, my efforts of no use, one of them caught me in his arms and I was lifted up from the bed, and was carried in a baby's style
Do I weight nothing now? How come I'm short.

I want to be able to talk like them too, I can read it but can't say it. Most probably because deep underwater these languages don't work.
