Marinette
Lunch rolls around quickly while I sat in class all morning staring blankly at the board. Alya and I head toward the bakery after we both snuck out the school emergency exit at the back.
"Do you think your parents will be there?" Alya asks.
"Oh god, I hope not." I frown.
"What? You said that they were not there." Alya turns to me.
"Well, I think they won't be." I nervously laugh as I turn to Alya, but she doesn't laugh with me as her face crunches up in anger.
"Okay, I'm sorry, but I left my history textbook in my room. If you want to go back in the school, go. Just don't forget to put the wood back there do it wouldn't lock." I tell Alya.
"No, I want to go with you. Maybe we could grab something to eat at the bakery." Alya turns to me.
I nod and we start walking across the street when the light goes green. We both enter the bakery and almost immediately mom and dad greets us but questions us why we're not in school.
"I left my math book in my room. I'm going to grab it then we'll be on our way." I explain.
Mom and dad nods gradually. I leave Alya back in the bakery with my parents while I go up to the apartment to get my textbook. I see her pull out a stool from my parents we're sitting while they ate.
"Marinette, you completely zoned out in school." Tikki reminds me.
"I know, Tikki, but it's hard when Adrian isn't there to keep me focused. And besides you know I don't like school." I smile innocently at floating red bug in my room.
"Adrian? Did you not see him during second period? He came in in the middle of a lesson? But I can't blame you, he snuck inside the class room and no one really noticed him but me." Tikki laughs.
"What? He was there?" I practically yell which I quickly clamp my mouth shut while Tikki shushes me.
"Yes. He was there. He's still in school having lunch in the locker room. You didn't see him?" Tikki tilts her head as she looks at me with her navy blue eyes. I shake my head.
"Did Alya see him? Why didn't Alya tell me?" I frown.
"I don't know, both of you were too distracted to even notice Adrian move to the back of the class." Tikki explains.
"Hey, Marinette! Hurry up, girl! We have to go to school!" Alya voice booms which startles Tikki and I.
Tikki and I look at each other for a second as we hear Alya's footsteps trudge up the stairs. I grab a sweater of mine from the coat hanger before I put it on.
"Hide, Tikki."
I lift it up for Tikki to hide and she does as told. Alya appears at the doorway as soon as I pull the sweater down. Alya raises an eyebrow at me as she tilts her head, scanning my obviously warm outfit.
"A sweater? Really? It's like thirty degrees outside." Alya reminds me.
"I-I know. I, umm, I think I'm coming down with something." I fake a sniff before wiping my nose.
Alya looks at me up and down as I wrap the sweater around my body to convince her. Alya just looks at me before she shakes her head. I know that my hair is probably ruined.
"Cmon, we have to go. We still haven't had lunch yet."
Alya walks over to my steep staircase that lead up to my room. I follow behind her and she opens the hatch. She climbs to the top as she looks around the room. She strides her way to my workplace while I climb up the ladder to my bed to look for my history book.
