Marinette
After school Alya and I went back to my place to let her read the poem that Adrian wrote. She got all excited that Adrian wrote a poem to me for the assignment.
Now, Alya is laying on her stomach on the sofa while she reads the poem she holds in her hands. And I sit at my desk facing her, waiting for her to finish reading the poem.
"Oh my god, it's like he's written this poem directly to you, Marinette!" Alya squeals. I blush before I look down at my lap.
"Well, technically he did." I remind her.
Alya tsks her tongue and rolls her eyes at me, "You know what I mean."
I nod before she continues to read the poem.
"He's good. Really good." Alya agrees.
I look up at her and nod in agreement. She reads the poem yet again. She sets the poem down in front of her on the chair she's laying. She stares at me with a smile on her face. I furrow my eyebrows together as I stare at her, puzzled.
"What?" I ask.
She shakes her head, "This is a start of a new love story." She fakes a sniffle before she wipes the none-existent tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Marinette, you know what this means?" Alya pushes herself off the chair as she sits up. I shake my head.
"This is a way of letting him know your feelings for him. But only if you told him in real life and not on paper." Alya points to the poem Adrian wrote.
"Yeah, I know. But I can't. I can't come up to him and tell him about my feelings toward him. It's easier said now than done." I tell her.
"But this is a good start." She gestures to the paper. "If the both of you write to each other every week, he'll see that you're not just writing it for the assignment. But writing it for him."
I sigh, "How can he know? He'll just think about the assignment and not my poem about him to him."
"Just tell him." Alya says as if it was that simple.
I laugh before I turn my chair around to hide my sad expression, "as if that's going to happen."
Alya sighs, "Marinette, at some point you've got to tell him. You can't be sitting behind him forever and daydreaming about him when he's right in front of you everyday in class."
I close my eyes and sigh deeply. She's right. She's always right. She always gives me about relationship advice. She's always there like Tikki is. They're always there for me to help me up on my feet and keep walking. I don't know what I would do without the both of them.
I hear the shuffling on the small sofa that Alya is sitting on before I hear the sounds of her footsteps coming up behind me. She wraps her arms from behind me and embraces me.
"Marinette. You're amazing and talented. And Adrian will fall for you one day only if you tell him." Alya says.
I squeeze her forearm with my hand as I assure her. We stay like that before we break away.
"Now, Let's go downstairs and eat." Alya says before she lets go of me. I nod before I follow her down the stairs.
Adrian
