Morning report

It was another gorgeous day in the Pride Lands. On the peak of Pride Rock, King Simba was sitting down and watching his kingdom. It was only last week when the pride landers and the outsiders were fighting each other for territory and rights. But thanks to the actions of Simba's daughter Kiara and  Kovu, peace was restored to the Pride Lands once again.

Good morning Daddy, why up so early?" said a sweet female voice. Simba turned and saw his beloved daughter, princess Kiara. She was a pretty lioness with  amber eyes, golden fur and a fun loving personality. Simba went and nuzzled her affectionately. "Nothing much just chilling out," he said grinning.

Kiara chuckled and sat down next to her father. She was just about to ask him something, when they heard voices.
"It's Mom," said Kiara smiling widely. Nala, the Queen of the Pride Lands and Kiara's mother came out of the den and nuzzled her daughter.

"Good morning sweetheart," she said softly.
"Good morning Nala," Simba greeted his wife.
"Good morning Simba," said Nala acknowledging her husband's presence.
"Mom when is the hunting party leaving?" asked Kiara.
"In a bit dear," replied Nala.
"We'll leave when Zazu gives your father the morning report and after the lionesses wake up and after morning assembly."

As if on cue Zazu, the Majordomo and royal advisor flew up.
"Good morning your Majesties," said Zazu bowing low.
"I have come to give you the morning report."
"Go ahead Zazu," said Simba. "From the northern border to the southern border everything seems in order. The western waterhole is crowded with animals from zebras and antelopes to buffalos and elephants."

"Thank you for the update as usual Zazu," said Simba.
"Keep me posted."
"Ok so the morning report has been given. Now it's time for morning assembly," Nala said yawning widely.
Kiara nodded and ran to the den to wake up Kovu. When she did find him he was fast asleep. He laid on his back with his paws covering his face.

Kiara smirked and slowly crept to his sleeping spot. She was just about to pounce on him, when out of nowhere he opened his eyes and in a second she was under him.
"Kovu, how did you sense my presence?" she asked laughingly. "Your scent, your paws and your breathing," he smiled.

Kiara chuckled softly and playfully pawed at his face. "Daddy wants everyone to come for morning assembly. He just received the morning report from Zazu," she said.
Kovu nodded and got off of Kiara. They walked out of the den and onto the platform.
