"Mom? Do you have Pricilla with you?" Kovu called from the platform. One month had passed since Pricilla had been living with Kiara and Kovu and with each passing day, she had been getting stronger and more spunky. She spoke little baby sounds that Kiara found utterly adorable and spent her days with her new parents. Kiara's stomach was starting to get bigger as the days went by. She was now a month and three weeks into her pregnancy, just thirteen more weeks to go and the cub would be born. Kovu was excited at the news and spent everyday with Kiara and their cub. Sometimes he would lie down close to her stomach and listen to the cub as it moved, and everytime it did, Kovu would feel a kind of pleasure that was indescribable; Kiara loved to see him like that. It warmed her heart.
"Mom? Where is Pricilla?" Kovu called out once more. Receiving no answer he went into the den and his eyes roamed the cave in search of his mother, or anyone for that matter. Seeing no one, Kovu left the platform and went behind Pride Rock where the pride liked to sleep and bask in the sun. He saw Marisa sleeping on a rock and nudged her with his paw in an attempt to wake her up. Flickering her eyelids in the glare of the afternoon sun, Marisa looked around disorriented and when Kovu called her name, she turned and glanced up.
"Huh Kovu? What's up, is everything okay?"she asked groggily. Kovu smiled and stroked his sister's sleepy head. "Have you seen Mom? Or Kiara or Pricilla? I'm looking for them," he said. Fully awake now, Marisa sat up, yawned and stretched out her muscles. "No I haven't seen any of them," she said. "Why is something wrong?" Kovu looked around distraction, he didn't appear to hear Marisa. "Kovu!" He jumped startled and turned to look at his sister.
"I've been looking for them for a while now. It's time for Kiara to go for her checkup with Rafiki and for Pricilla to take her afternoon nap," Kovu said. Marisa offered to help him look for them and he accepted the offer gratefully. "With the two of us looking, we'll find them in no time," Marisa predicted perkily. Kovu laughed and the siblings set out in search of Kiara and Pricilla. "By the way have you seen Vitani?" Kovu asked when they started walking. "No why?" Marisa replied. "I'm looking for her too,"
Vitani was standing on the edge of the Eastern border drinking water and waiting for someone as she drank. She's been told to wait there until he showed. He promised he would be there this afternoon and Vitani wasn't leaving until she saw him. When she had drunk her fill, she licked her lips and went to a shady spot not too far from the spot in which she had been standing for several hours on end. "Ugh where is he?" she asked herself in sheer frustration. A gazelle had come in front of her and for a split second she felt compelled to hunt it. She was bored, and when she was bored she did anything she could to kill her boredum. It wasn't something she was used to and sometimes, it drove her crazy.
"Have you been waiting for me long?" a husky male voice rang out. Vitani turned and saw a lion with grey fur coming towards her. He had chocolate brown eyes and his mane was somewhere between orange and brown. Her face lighting up with pleasure, Vitani walked towards the lion and nuzzled him under his neck. "Kimya I've missed you so much," she whispered. "I've waited so long for you. Where have you been my love?"
The lion named Kimya chuckled and ran his tongue along Vitani's jawline making her shudder with his touch. "Did you miss me that much?" he asked softly as he nipped her earlobe. Sighing in contentment, Vitani sat down and allowed Kimya to carress her with his tongue in slow teasing strokes, she closed her eyes and relished the feel of his touch. Suddenly he pushed her on the ground and bent over her, his smile seductive, his intentions clear. He bent his head and whispered in her ear. "Have you had enough time to think about us?" he questioned.
Vitani smiled and placed her paw on Kimya's face. He looked down at her and she smiled, love shining in her eyes and seeping through her pores. "I have," she said slowly. Kimya raised his eyebrows but said nothing, he waited for her to speak again. "Kimya I love you so much and I want us to have a future together. I want to be the mother of your cubs and I want us to live as one... but," she stopped and looked away. Kimya took her chin in his paw and made her look at him. "My love what is it? Tell me what's bothering you. Are you having second thoughts about our relationship? Or are you just debating with yourself."
Hesitating for a brief moment, Vitani got up and looked away, her gaze on the water. Kimya waited for her to decide what to say next. He didn't rush her or demand an answer but he waited paitently for her to settle with her inner demons. After several minutes, she turned back to him and her indecision was gone. replaced with trust and hope. "I love you Kimya. You deserve what you want with me, you've waited long enough," she said. Kimya sighed and embraced Vitani with all the tenderness he possessed. He moved away and in a split second, their lips connected. The kiss was tender and filled with desperation, love and promise.
When the kiss ended, Vitani's face was flushed and her heart raced. "That. Was. Great," she said giggling. Kimya chuckled and nuzzled her affectionately. "If that was 'great' wait until tonight. It will be phenomenal." Hearing this, Vitani sighed and melted into Kimya's thick soft mane. After a while, they seperated. "Where should we meet?" Vitani asked after a moment's silence. Kimya licked her face and she purred. "We'll meet in our special cave. The one we go everytime I come here, come to the cave when everyone is asleep and you're sure they won't wake until dawn. Then, I'll show you the time of your life,"
