The sound of clanking utensils fill the room as your aunt and you start eating dinner at the table. Since she had to quickly run out to get groceries, she came back late, causing you both to have to eat later then you usually did. You told her that she didn't have to work herself too hard and you'd make due with a sandwich or something. She disagreed and told you she wanted you to have a good dinner.

To you, it seemed like your aunt has been working even harder for you since you were forced to live with her. You loved your dear aunt very much, but you couldn't help but remember how you ended up in the situation regarding you to live with her. You couldn't help but become curious about your parents and why you didn't live with them. So, you were going to sum up the courage to ask.

"Sorry...I mean for getting your dinner late. I know you have things planned tomorrow." Every now and then, your aunt would do something she considered to be a mess up and ended up getting you somewhere late or like today, giving you your dinner late.

"Don't worry, it's fine to have mistakes once in a while." Your large grin changed her pout to one that mimicked yours. "You don't have to work yourself so hard, especially because I'm here and can help you too!"

"Ah, i'm sorry if i've been worrying you, (Y/n)-chan. I can't help but put myself down when I don't do something correctly for you."

"Everything you do is more than enough for me, it's ok!" Giving her a thumbs up, she picks up her glass and takes a sip with a smile.

Your aunt sets down her cup and glances over at you. "I'm really being a good aunt?"

"The best!"

~~~
You were rushing down the street, passing many different people. You went through parks and neighborhoods until you finally met with what you've kept secret this whole time.
"Oh no!"
After reuniting, you carried your prized possession back home, worried about the damage caused.
Unfortunately, it was your last resort and Shinsō would be at your house shortly.
~~~

"Ready to study?" You let Shinsō walk through the door, trying to act as calm as possible. Of course, you failed.

"Yeah! Let's study...!" Your eyes wander to the stairs, leading up to your room until looking back at Shinsō with a suspicious smile.

"Ok...?" Shinsō looks towards the stairs until you pull him towards the dining room. He couldn't help but be a little suspicious since you both studied in your room the last time. Mentally shrugging, he sits in one of the chairs, you sitting next to him while fiddling with your thumbs.

"Is your aunt not here?" Shinsō asks, pulling the materials from his bag and setting them on the table.

"She's not." You also set up your things, making sure you have lead on your mechanical pencils and an eraser to use. Shinsō glances over at you, noticing some...fur on your shirt...?

"You have something on your shirt..." He points to where it is and you quickly pull it off.
"Since when did you have a pet?"

"T-the lady down the street I help has 2 cats that live in her house." You once again smile awkwardly, trying to be believable but Shinsō could tell something was up.

"Oh? What are their names?"

Not being able to come up with something on the spot, you let your eyes wander to a random thing in the kitchen.

"Salt and P-pepper! It's funny because one is black and the other is gray. It would make sense if one was white...haha...."

"Yeah...." Shinsō pulls out some papers with problems on them. "Anyways, to make sure you still remember what we previously did, try these before we move on to the next set of steps. You have to know this in order to do what we've started doing in class."

~~~
"Meow...?"
Your head shoots up from your book as Shinsō asks, "Did you hear that?" He looks around, trying to find the source of the sound.
"Hear w-what? Are you messing with me?" Of course your stuttering didn't help make it seem believable that you didn't know what he was talking about.
You glance back and forth from the work Shinsō assigned to you and the hallways beside the dining room. Suddenly you see a little head pop up, making you jump up from your seat, startling Shinsō.
"A-ah! I'm getting a little cold." You rub your shoulders, trying to make it look real. "I'm going to grab my jacket. I'll be right back!"
You grab the cat and run upstairs without another word from you or Shinsō.
"What the heck..."
~~~

"WHAT?! ACHOO!" Your face grew red as you saw that the feline had messed up your room, clawing at everything. It's food and water was also spilled, crumbs everywhere.

You frantically look around, trying to find something else that meant a lot to you too.

"Where is it..!" Tears suddenly well up in your eyes when you see a picture that you treasured was now scratched up.

You pick up the scratched and chewed picture, letting your tears fall on it before standing up and glaring at the cat.

"S-stupid...maybe I shouldn't of-"

"Shouldn't of brought a kitten here? I don't suppose your aunt knows about this stray, huh?" You blink a few times and wipe your eyes to see Shinsō standing in your doorway with the cat in his hands.

"S-Shinsō-kun..."

"Why'd you bring him here anyways...?" The cat meows as Shinsō rubs his soft and fluffy belly. Shinsō wouldn't straight out admit it he had a soft spot for cats.

"He got into a f-fight with some other cats and some of his was was bitten...I couldn't just leave him there to get hurt m-more..." You try to explain.

"Stop with the waterworks." Shinsō cradles the cat in his arms and starts to walk away from your room.

"W-wait! Where are you going..?" You follow behind him, almost forgetting the mess in your room and closing the door.

"If we're going to take care of a cat, we need some supplies, don't we?"

'Nya~!'
