I woke up with a headache. Kylie and Mum were there. Mum got up and called a doctor. Kylie was holding my hand. I felt so thirsty and my throat was so dry. My head felt like it was banging.
"You alright?" Kylie asked.
"Water," I said.
She held a cup of water to my lips as I sipped the water. Dr.Ray came in with a smile on his face.
"I can say that the operation went really well, we managed to get the tumour out, which is great," he said.
I felt the back of my head and felt the stitching.
"What about the stitches?" I asked.
"Just don't wet the area for 48 hours and when you do wash your hair, take extra care," he said.
"Alright," I said.
"The next stage is letting you heal up and then we can hopefully start either radiotherapy or chemotherapy, whichever suits you best," he said.
"What's the difference?" I asked.
"They both could kill cancer cells but they have different side effects. Radiotherapy will make you feel tired and chemotherapy will cause hair loss, tiredness, bruising and bleeding and many more. I'll give you a leaflet on the two so you have a clearer idea on which one you want to do," he said.
"Okay," I said.
"Brilliant, I'll leave you to recover, I'll check your progress tomorrow and if you're doing well then I'll discharge you," he said.
"So, I can't go home now?" I asked.
"Unfortunately not, I need to check if you're on track," he said.
Dr.Ray left and Mum kissed me on my head.
"I have to pop back to work, I'm so sorry, darling," she said.
"It's fine, you should go, Kylie's with me anyways," I said.
Mum left the room and I got up and walked towards the mirror that was in the corner of the room. I examined the area that was stitched up and it didn't hurt that much which is good. I took off my hair tie and put my hair up in a bun as instead of a ponytail.
"I swear down you could pull off anything," Kylie said.
"So could you," I said.
"Anyways, Dean says to get well soon," she said.
"You told Dean!" I exclaimed.
"No, you idiot, I said that you were ill," she said.
I let out a breath that I didn't even know I was holding in. If Dean knew then he'd probably tell Tyler and I didn't want that. I didn't want him to know and I didn't want Landon to know either.
Kylie and I talked for ages before Lilly and Ryan came. They both hugged me and sat down.
"You look like a rockstar with your shaven head," Ryan said.
"Shut up, there's only a bit of shaven hair, I think you still look gorgeous," Lilly said.
"Thanks," I said.
