"Hey..." He said silently over the phone.

I sighed quietly as I ruffled my wet hair because of the shower I had just taken.

"Hi..." I said hearing a little sniffle coming from the other side of the phone.

"I just- I just wanted to know what I did." He said trying to steady his breath

"Tommy-"

He cut me off "don't call me that!"

"I-I'm sorry." I said looking down at my feet on the cold wooden floor.

"No, no. I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell."

"It's okay." I said softly.

"Can you just please, please tell me?"

"I can't do this over the phone, Tom."

"Okay...I'll be over in ten."

"Tom don't-" I said but he already hung up.

I walked into the bathroom and dried my hair when I heard a knock on the door. I turned off the hair dryer and walked to the door.

I opened the door and saw Tom standing there all wet from the rain.

"(Y/n)...can I come in?"

"Uh yeah sure." I said as I let him inside.

"Why is it so dark in here?" He asked

"Power outage." I said bluntly

"Can we sit?" He said pointing to the couch.

"Sure."

We both sat down and looked at the wall uncomfortably.

"(Y/n) I need to know-"

"Oh my gosh!" I yelled

"What?" He said frantically.

"I forgot to record my favorite tv show!" I said jumping up and grabbing the remote.

"(Y/n) I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you!" He yelled standing up and he turned me around.

"I know and I'm trying to avoid it!" I screamed

"Why?" He said softly.

I started to tear up "because-because..."

"(Y/n)..." he said as he touched my shoulder lightly "please..."

"I-i can't be with you." I said quietly

"I don't understand."

"It's too hard for me." I said trying to walk away

"What did I do!?"

"You cheated on me!"

"(Y/n)...I'm- i didn't mean to."

"What do you mean you didn't mean to?"

"I was drunk."

I made a disgusted face "and that makes it okay!?"

"I-"

I slapped him. "You promised me...you promised we would be together forever."

"I didn't mean it (y/n)!"

I looked at my hand and grabbed the engagement ring off my finger."

"(Y/n) please...please don't." He said crying

I threw it at him. "I don't want this anymore."

"(Y/n) I-i love you. Don't do this."

"I'm sorry...I will always love you Tom, but I need you to leave."

He sighed as he twiddle the ring in his fingers. He held it up and nodded his head.

"I'll leave now..."

"Thank you."

He looked at me one last time and left into the dark, cold night.

I shut the door and slid down to the floor and cried. Tom was the love of my life and the only thing he did was cheat on me. I wish things could have been different...so much different...
