"Okay but why the Opera? It's the lamest thing we could have possibly done here!" Betty yelled to Ned who was trying to calm her down.
"Betty it's a great experience. It will widen our horizons to great ideas and to explore something we haven't tried before." Ned said with a smile.
"Thats dumb." Betty said walking faster on the street.
I walked down the path trying to blend in as much as I could with our group. I was sort of a outcast, not by choice obviously. I always tried to make conversation or joke but no one seemed to care. I was just another body on the trip. The one thing that helped me make this trip great was my camera and being able to take shots of all the architectural details in the buildings in Europe.
Oh and the opera? Definitely not something any of us wanted to do, but what can you do, right?
We all walked into the building and everyone sat in their chairs I stood out in the hall trying to get a few shots of the marble statues and the paintings on the ceiling.
"You want to spilt a pair of opera glasses?" MJ asked Peter who were standing at the back row of the chairs.
I rolled my eyes and continued to take photos. I sat down on one of the benches in the hall and started to scroll through all the photos I had taken just in case I needed to get more before we left.
Peter suddenly burst into the hall and I looked at him confused as to what he was doing.
"Um what are you doing?" I asked still sitting on the bench.
He quickly looked over at me
"Huh?" He replied his mind seeming to be in other place.
I put my camera around my neck and stood up "where are you going? The opera is that way." I smiled
"Oh uh yeah I just uh needed to get something from the hotel." He smiled nervously.
I took a photo of him and looked at it "mmm you're not good at lying." I said as I showed him the photo.
He squinted at the photo and then looked at me.
"I can't explain right now (y/n) I have to go." He said as he ran outside.
I didn't know he even knew my name. I had a crush on Peter for years and all this time he knew my name...who woulda thought.
I looked inside the theater and saw everyone was sitting down so I ran outside trying to found out what peter was doing, in a non creepy, non stalkerish way.
He kept running until he reached the hotel. I ran inside the hotel but I couldn't find him anywhere. I sighed and turned around to go back to the opera. I looked to my left and so the carnival going on and smiled.
I'm just gonna get a few shots real quick. No one will miss me. I thought.
I walked between the crowded streets and took pictures of the people, the food, the games, everything. I walked up to the statue that was on the far right, far away from all the hustle and bustle and took a photo of it.
"You're just like me huh? Away from everything and everyone, and it wasn't even your choice...I get it." I sighed "and I'm talking to a statue." I groaned as I looked down in a huff.
Suddenly lava started to burst out of the statue. I ran as fast as I could away from it all in this small hide out where all the commotion wasn't. I grabbed my camera and started to take pictures of everything around me. The monster, the two guys fighting it, the people. Everything. It was chaotic but breathtaking. That sounds like I'm a psycho, but you had to be there.
