he turned to look at
who the sound came
from, shocked when
he realized it was
a noise addressed
to him. immediately,
he turned his eyes
to the ground.
"you don't have
to do that
you know,"
he whispered.
even at seven
he was known
as the quiet boy
who only spoke falsely.
"do what?"
"talk to me."
