I want it to be 2017 in the book so it will be now sorry to confuse anybody and enjoy the first actual chapter I've written in a long time! Cast list soon to come

Football season is officially full swing. Practices have been every day except for Sunday for the past two weeks and tomorrow is the first day of senior year which seems pretty unreal but it's a good thing and I already have my outfit picked out and my practice duffel packed and ready to go in my car. I'm at my dads for the next couple of weeks because my mom is going out of town on business. Which means I get to spend more time with gage my handsome man.

He started working almost everyday so he could see me more which was super sweet in my opinion. We have a date later today. It's a surprise but I'm hoping it's a picnic. We haven't been on a picnic date in a long time and it's going to start getting chiller soon.

My ringtone goes off.
"Hello"
"Hey you wanna go throw around the ball before our date?"
"Sure if you think you can find me"
"Are you gonna make me find you for real?"
"Yup"
"I know this house like the back of my hand"
"Well, good luck"
I press end call and run to the kitchen and bump into jer and autumn together.
"Hey I'm hiding from gage don't tell him I'm here"
"Okay have fun" autumn says and laughs.
I climb onto the counter next to the fridge and then pull myself up on top of it. There's just enough room for me to stay up there in the fetal position.i grab my phone out of my butt pocket and play one of those swipe to match games. I get a text from gage.
G: im coming to find you now, hope you like you're spot.
D: you're never gonna find me I'm a pro at this game.
G: nope you're gonna be found in five minutes, when I find you can you make your chocolate chip pancakes they're the best.
D:sure if you make some lemonade.
G: okay game on.
I'm sitting on the fridge for ten minutes before gage walks into the kitchen.
"Hey guys have you seen Delilah recently?"
"Yeah she was just in here awhile ago, I heard you guys were playing hide and seek."
"Yeah she wouldn't practice with me unless i did unfortunately."
"Yeah I have to get some apples apparently I'm making apple pie."
"Hey you volunteered to I just said I'd appreciate it if you did because I love apple pie."
"Yeah yeah"
I'm sitting on top of the fridge still so this could lead to some issues.
"Delilah and me are going on a date later so it should be fun"
"Yeah what are you guys doing" jer asked.
"Delilah why don't you tell them" he says.
"Man, how long did you know I was up here?"
"Since I walked in here you're hair was hanging off the side" he says with a wink.
"Well then" I say and then let out a huff. I get off the fridge and sit on the counter. Gage walks over to me.
"Hi" he says giving me a peck on the lips. "Hi" I reply with a big grin. "You gonna make me those pancakes"
"You bet" he turns around and backs up so I can climb onto his back for a piggy back ride.
"We need chocolate chips milk eggs butter sugar salt baking powder and flour." Gage walks over to all of those cabinets before I jump off his back to find the measuring cup and a mixing bowl. I get out the lemons and a pitcher too so he can make me the lemonade he promised.
" so what should I wear for this date? Something I can work out in? Something dressy? Something casual?"
"Something like a sundress with a sweater"
"Really? Why so specific?"
"Cause I bought you that for the date it's on your bed"
" you're the sweetest" I say and give him a kiss.
I start to mix together all of the dry ingredients while I melt the butter. Once the butter is melted I make a well in the dry ingredients and add the eggs butter and milk to it, once the batter is all mixed i add some chocolate chips.
" do you want a bunch of small ones or a couple big ones" I ask gage. "I want a couple big ones"
I make four big chocolate chip pancakes and got out two cups for the lemonade.

I sit down at the table and wait with a smile for gage to come sit down across from me. He wanders over after a couple of minutes.
"You look beautiful today Delilah"
"You don't look half bad yourself"
"You know I was thinking since tomorrow is the first day off school what if I stay the night and we can watch movies after or date and then we can go to school together tomorrow"
"I would love that!" I say as we finish our pancakes once I clean up the kitchen I grab the football off the bench by the back door and run out of the house with gage chasing me.
"You can't catch me" I taunt like a little five year old.
He's right on my tail though and when I go to make a sharp turn to try and get away from him his arms wrap around me from behind and he turns us around so when we fall to the ground he gets the blunt of the fall. I roll of of him and lay on the ground next to him.
" I bet you I can throw the ball straight to you from all the way across the yard."
"Yeah right" and with that I run off to the other side of the yard and throw the ball to him with a huge smile on my face.
