Jack and Hiccup were walking back to their apartment. They had been shopping for more food. Well Jack had. Hiccup was busy flirting with some red haired chick. "I'm just saying she was really nice, but she was difficult so I'm not going to back down from that." Hiccup said for the tenth time already.

"Oh please! I know you've been obsessed with her for the past weeks, and that's why you haven't got with anyone else recently!" Jack said back with a smirk coming across his face. They came to there apartment. Both of them didn't really check things and ended up leaving the apartment without locking the door.

Before entering their apartment Hiccup stopped Jack "Hey, don't ruin my chances with this girl, she's the best girl I've ever met. OK?"

This made Jack grin more "OK I won't" Jack said. He was so happy that Hiccup had finally found someone that he liked for their personality not just their looks.

Jack walked into the room laughing with Hiccup but stopped once the door had opened. Hiccup looked to where he was looking and froze as well.

Rapunzel was sat on the sofa. When she saw them she immediately stood up as if she was waiting for them but she was still scared of what they might think. Jack noticed that there were a bunch of bags next to the sofa which he assumed were Rapunzel's.

"Hi..." Rapunzel whispered in a small and fragile voice.

*~*~*~*~*

Jack walked to Hiccup who was sat on the couch. "How is she?" He asked. Jack sighed and sat next to him.

"She's asleep." He said, looking forward into the distance. Once Rapunzel had told them both what had happened between her and her father both of them were shocked. Rapunzel was broken about it. She was confused and very emotional but Jack was there for her and didn't leave her side until she was sound asleep. "Can she stay here?" Jack asked Hiccup. She had no where to go and they were her last resort.

"Yeah of course," Hiccup said solemnly "as long as she needs." He finished. When it came down to serious situations Hiccup was very kind and caring about them and would do anything to help.

"Thank you." Jack said with no real emotion. He blamed himself for what happened to her. He cared about her and he couldn't help but think that it was all his fault.

"I'm going to see Merida tonight so you two can be alone." Hiccup said. Merida was the red head that the boys were talking about earlier and Jack couldn't help but smile slightly when Hiccup told him that.

"Alright. Well have fun" Jack said.

*~*~*~*~*

Jack was sat alone on the couch. Hiccup had left a few hours ago and Rapunzel was still asleep. He was slouched on the sofa with a beer bottle in his hand. He couldn't stop blaming himself for everything that happened to Rapunzel.

Before Jack met Rapunzel he thought that she was going to be another on if those desperate girls but she was nothing like that. She made Jack feel warm inside even though they had only been on 2 official dates. She was smart, bubbly, sarcastic, beautiful and... different.

Rapunzel was like a drug to Jack. He tried to ignore his feeling for her but she was just too addictive. Jack was incredibly fond of Rapunzel and felt very protective towards her. But he knew that if she found out that Jacks first intentions were to use her to get back at her father, she would be heartbroken.

Jack could see through her. He could see the pain that she hides away from everyone. Of course he respected her secrecy but he was still curious about her.

Jacks thoughts were interrupted when he heard a quiet cough. He turned his head and saw Rapunzel leaning against the door frame. She was wearing one of Jack's big shirts that went down to her mid-thigh and her hair was messy. Jack still thought she looked beautiful though. "Hey." He said immediately rising from his seated position.

"Hey." She replied back in a broken voice. She was still shaken by the incident and it was obvious to anyone that she was in a state of shock.

"How are you feeling?" Jack asked her. All Rapunzel did in response was slightly shrug her shoulders and gave a very weak smile. "Do you need anything?" Jack asked her softly. This time she shook her head slowly. "Hiccup left..." Jack said wanting to fill the eerie silence between them. Still Rapunzel said nothing.

After a long moment of silence Rapunzel finally spoke up. "Thank you." She said timidly. Jack looked at her with empathy and she looked directly into his icy blue eyes.

Jack slowly started to walk up to her and she began to walk to him. Jack reached her and had to look down slightly because of her small height.

Rapunzel looked up at Jack And didn't know what to say. But they both knew what they were going to do.

Jack lean his head down more and Rapunzel closed her big emerald eyes, until she felt his lips on hers.

Unlike the first kiss they shared, this one was full of love and softness. It was a beautiful kiss and they continue to kiss one another for a long time. Rapunzel wrapped her arms around Jacks neck and Jack swooped Rapunzel up into his arms gently, still not detaching from the kiss. Jack then started walking to his room.

The whole night they laid in bed cuddling, enjoying each other's warm embrace. Jack then knew that he would never let Rapunzel go and he would never let anyone hurt her.

Nothing could tear them apart.
