    Shift's P.O.V.

Cross glanced at the group, concern flowing in his eyes. After what Fell had told them, Shift started to doubt that they were ever going to make it out of this AU alive. For the past few days, they had been crushed by constant waves of hardship. Shift saw Cross take a deep breath before making the final decision.

"You heard Fell," murmured Cross. "Let's go." Once again, the group set off. This time, they were aware of the dangers ahead of them. The sickness, the monsters, the figure... what could you expect?

Depressing stuff, that's what, grumbled shift in her head. Because of all of the bad things that have happened, happiness seemed far, far ahead. Suddenly, she felt someone pull the collar of her shirt and the ground vanish below her. She found herself hanging from a ledge, right above the lava. She felt herself freeze in shock and fear. She could have died. She felt herself being lifted from her position and onto the land. Everyone stood over her, a sudden fog of worry clouding their eyes.

"Are you okay?" asked Beats. Shift confirmed that she wasn't dead before coming up with a response.

"Does it look like I'm okay?" growled Shift. Beats looked away without responding. Cross helped Shift up and pointed across from them.

"These are jump pads," explained Cross. "All we have to do is go through them."

"Please... never do that ever again..." Shift grumbled to Dream. Dream glanced back and shrugged.

"Hey, if you had to chose between dying or dancing with a sadistic robot, which one would you chose?" snapped Dream. Shift threw Dream a dirty look.

"...Sadistic robot..." grumbled Shift. Dream glanced at her and walked away to join Cross ahead of her. Shift glanced towards the wall and noticed two white spots and a little black hole watching them. Shift froze, then slowly walked towards the hole. As she got closer, the two white dots grew, then vanished along with the hole. Shift narrowed her eyes and followed Cross.

Maybe it was just my imagination... said Shift in her head. Either that, or someone is stalking us...

    ???'s P.O.V.

The figure drew away from the hole, snarling.

"That was a close one," sighed the figure before turning around at the sound of someone chuckling.

"She's onto you," mumbled Geno. The figure disappeared then reappeared in front of the cage Geno was in, anger flaring in their eyes.

"Shut up!" sneered the figure. "They'll never catch me! They're way too stupid to find out! Besides, by the time they do, it'll be too late!" The figure banged on the cage as they saw Geno try to make a remark. "Don't question me!" shriked the figure. Geno's eyes shrink out of fear, and tears start to flow from his eyes. The figure snapped his fingers, and Geno fell to the ground as if he was dead.

"No..." muttered Geno. The figure grinned evilly.

"Serves him right to watch everyone he loves die over and over again," cackled the figure. Suddenly, a portal opened, and a skeleton wearing a black cloak and holding a scythe jumped out from it. They looked up, and their left eye was glowing a very bright blue.

"Let him go!" screamed the skeleton.
