Chapter 4

Jack laughed "okay" he said following his friend

Zach laughed and pulled his friend out the door "wait..instead of going to the park let's go to the bridge" he smiled

"Alright" Jack smiled, not really caring what they did as long as they were together.

When the boys got to the road Zach smiled and started walking towards the bridge.

Jack looked over at Zach who was all smiley and happy, he smiled widely realizing they were still holding hands.

They boys walked and talked until they got to the bridge. When they got there Zach went straight to the edge and hopped on the rail.

Jack laughed and climbed up beside him. He was looking over at the water and got lost in his thoughts. He laughed a little harder and looked at Zach "hey, remember that time when we were, like, 7 and you fell in there" he said pointing towards the water

Zach laughed "yeah, but it was your fault!" He said glaring playfully at Jack

"How was you falling MY fault?" Jack laughed, looking over at Zach

"Well..I was standing on the edge of the rocks and you scared me..what did you expect?" Zach said and crossed his arms over his chest, laughing

Jack shook his head "I thought you were gonna fall backwards" he said laughing

"So you were gonna let me dIe?" Zach asked

"No dummy, I was gonna catch you" (I swear this is how I talk to my brother😂) Jack said smiling

"Hmmm suuure you were" Zach said playfully

"At least it wasn't like that one time" Jack laughed thinking about the memory "when you brought that girl here"

"Oh yeah" Zach made a weird face "I-ew- she was horrible. Literally she was scared of everything" he said shaking his head "and people wonder why I prefer guys" he said not realizing what he said until after he said it

"Wait, you what?" Jack asked not taking his gaze off of his friend

"I-Uhm- nothing, don't worry about it" Zach said quickly looking back at the water "I didn't mean t-" he was cut off by Jack speaking

"Zach, why are you apologizing?" Jack said turning his body so he was criss cross on the rail "there's nothing to be sorry for"

"Yeah, there is" Zach sighed and glanced in his friends direction

"Like what?" Jack asked tapping his fingers on the wood of the rail

"It doesn't matter, alright" Zach said and got up off of the rail "I don't wanna talk about it" he shook his head and walked to the rocks

"Alright, you don't have to talk about it then" Jack sighed shakily, his friend used to tell him everything. Now he didn't.

Zach sat on a huge rock and started looking at the ground for smaller rocks, throwing them in the water and skipping some

Jack got up "I'm going home, I'll see you at school Monday" he said and started walking home. He had never done that before, never walked away from his friend. His best friend at that.

Zach pulled his knees up and laid his head on them, crying softly why do I have to ruin everything?  He thought today was going so good, but my dumb ass had to say something to ruin it. I just made him walk away. Everything is gonna change, gosh, he probably freakin hates me now. By now Zach was sobbing. He got up and started walking home.

Jack was at Zach's house grabbing his bags when Zach got home

{yes, there was a small time skip, but nothing important}

Only frickin 2 days until my summer begins!! I can't wait!! Alsooo, I've seen people do q&a's and I think I wanna do one. Sooo when this book gets to 1k reads, if it ever even does, I will do one❤️ anywaysss, expect a lot of updates this week!
