It was just your average summer day at theorist HQ.

It was a hot, humid, day, so Matt and Steph had every fan blowing and the AC unit cranked up as high as it could go. They were sitting at their table by the whiteboard waiting for Jason to arrive. Then, right on time at 10 o'clock Jason walked through the door.

"Hey guys." he said walking in.

"Hey Jason." said Matt and Steph in sync.

"How was the road trip?" he asked.

"It was great." said Matthew.

"Do you guys want to go up to the livestream room to set up for the stream tonight?" he asked.

"Sure." said Steph. They went up to the room and Matthew and Stephanie sat on the couch. Jason followed them in and flicked on the lightswitch. Then almost insiantanletly all the power in the house went out.

"Damn it Jason!" yelled Matthew playfully mad.

It was almost noon and the power had been out for a few hours.

"Okay, thank you." said Stephanie hanging up her phone after talking with the electric company. "Apparently the power outage is affecting over a thousand people in this part of L.A. They don't know when it will come back on."

"Ha! So it wasn't my fault!" said Jason.

"We're still blaming you." said Matthew.

"So, what are we going to do?" asked Stephanie.

"Well, we can still try and livestream." said Jason.

"How?" asked Matthew.

"Well we can use our laptops and phones and just use the internet. The game we are going to play is online anyways. Plus since it's Scary Games Friday, it would be way cooler to play a horror game in the dark." he explained. Stephanie and Matthew looked at each other.

"Okay, let's do it." said Stephanie.

"Oh my god. HOW IS THIS NOT WORKING!?!" Jason yelled in frustration.

They had been trying all day to get the internet to work, but with no luck. It was 4:30 and the stream was suppose to start thirty minutes ago. Stephanie buried her head in her hands and groaned in frustration. They had been updating awaiting fans this whole time about the situation. Even posting a funny picture of them looking frustrated on twitter.

"Well, unfortunately I think we have to cancel it." said Matthew.

"I think you're right." said Stephanie. Jason sighed and shutdown everything. They posted a message on twitter and on the livestream chat explaining everything and that they would be back on Monday. While the fans were disappointed, but they understood.

"So what do you guys what to do?" asked Jason.

"We could tell ghost stories." suggested Stephanie. So the three of them sat around telling ghost stories. After awhile Matthew checked his phone for the time and noticed it was 6 o'clock.

"Hey Jason how about you go home early today. We don't want you driving around at night with no stop lights working." said Matthew

"Are you sure?" asked Jason.

"Yeah, go home and surprise Gen." said Stephanie.

"Okay, thanks." said Jason gleefully. He said goodbye to Matt and Steph and then left. The couple put away all of their computers then went downstairs to their living room.

"Are you hungry?" asked Matthew.

"Yeah, but we can't cook anything." said Steph.

"Let's go find a restaurant that might be open." he said. After driving around for thirty minutes they found a McDonalds that had power, so they got dinner. Then they drove home as the sun started to set. It was dark out by the time they pulled into their driveway.

"Anything else you want to do?" asked Stephanie.

"We could start the outdoor fireplace and make s'mores." suggested Matthew.

"Sounds good. I'll get the ingredients."

"I'll start the fire." and the two parted ways.

Ten minutes later Matthew had a fire going.

He was using the metal rod to adjust the logs. Then Stephanie came out with a tray of graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate. She sat it down and sat next to Matthew.

"This is the perfect way to spend a Friday night with no power." she said. Matthew sat down the rod.

"Yes it is." he agreed. The fire's warmth felt great on the cool summer night. Stephanie laid her head on his shoulder. Matthew wrapped his arm around her and kissed her head. He could feel her shivering against him. He let go of her and slipped off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders. She wrapped it around herself tightly.

"Let's take a picture." she said. She pulled out her phone and snapped a selfie of the two. After she put her phone away she snuggled back up against him and he wrapped his arm around her again.

"I wish we could have more moments like this." she said. "We're always around employees or live streaming."

"I know. That's really the only thing I miss from us living in New York. It's not just the two of us anymore."

"Well at least we can enjoy these moments more." said Stephanie.

"I love you, Stephanie." said Matthew.

"I love you too." said Steph. They turned towards one another and kissed each other softly. They forgot about the s'mores and just held each other closely by the fire.
