Artemis Fowl One-Shot

-Artemis Fowl One-Shot (written in Gnommish in my notebook, but this computer doesn't speak that language, unfortunately)

-Basically the same idea as the last one, but I added a little of Foaly's awesomeness.

-Spoilers for anyone who hasn't read all of Artemis Fowl.

Artemis jolted upright in bed, his heart racing as disjointed pictures flashed through his head. Green light, then pitch black. Holly's face when she realized he'd tricked her.

He gasped and focused on just breathing for a few minutes. When he was sufficiently calm, he laid back down, but wasn't able to fall asleep.

Holly leapt upright out of slumber, her Nutrino in her hands and ready to blaze. SHe sighed when she realized it was just a dream.

She took a deep breath and laid back, pushing the images of Artemis' death out of her brain. But she couldn't go back to sleep.

The next morning, Foaly noticed something was wrong. "Holly, are you alright?" He asked in concern.

She shook her head and rubbed her eyes. "I had another dream last night." She confessed.

Foaly looked thoughtful. "Actually, Artemis has been having nightmares, as well. Butler told me in an email."

Holly's head jerked up from where it had been drooping. "He is?"

"Yeah. Maybe you should go check on our favorite Mud-boy."

Artemis walked into his study and sat down. He turned on his computer, then sat there, staring at the screen uncomprehendingly. 

Butler walked in a few minutes later and immediately strode over to where Artemis was sitting. He touched the boy's shoulder.

Arty looked up. "Butler. Why can't I remember? I keep having these nightmares... about things I don't remember doing... and people I don't remember knowing. Why?"

Butler looked at his principal sadly. "I don't know, Artemis. But maybe this will help." He pulled out what looked like a gold medallion.

"Ah." Artemis took it.

"I don't know if it will help, but this brought back your memories before and it might again." Butler said, then left. "Oh, and Holly's going to drop by." He added, sticking his head back in.

Holly walked in. "Perfect timing. Thanks for the introduction, Mud-man." She said fondly, hugging Butler. He patted her gently and left.

"Captain Short." Artemis nodded.

Holly walked over and saw what was in his hand. "Let's watch it." She suggested, inserting the cleverly hidden disk and pressing the folder labeled 'Artemis'.

The video played and when it was done Artemis sat there for a few moments. Suddenly his eye blazed green and he clapped his hands over it.

When he pulled them away, his once blue eye was now hazel, exactly the same color as Holly's. He turned to her, a multitude of emotions flashing over his face.

"Holly..." He breathed. He leapt up, pacing around in a flurry of thought. "Ho Chi Mihn City... Murmansk... America and the Eternity Code... Opal Koboi, then Minerva and the demons... going back in time... and Koboi trying to destroy the world yet again and my Atlantis Complex... Holly! I remember it all!"

He spun around and embraced her, for once at a loss for words. Tears dripped down his face and he let them, smiling a truly happy smile.

Artemis stood there, remembering, and enjoying the feel of Holly in his arms, then pulled away. He went to say something and yawned, setting Holly off, too.

"Sorry. I am exhausted and no doubt you are as well. There is a guest room 3 doors down the hall, if you would like to take a nap. I will be doing just that." He suggested, walking towards the door. A few steps away, he faltered. 

Holly rushed over to him. "You alright?"

Artemis nodded. "Just tired." He said, starting to sway in place. "I think I'd better sit down..." He lowered himself to the floor and leaned back against the wall. He curled up and yawned again. "Good night, Holly..." He mumbled, already asleep.

Holly smiled and brushed some hair out of his face. "Good night, Arty." And she fell asleep, too.

Artemis woke up and sat against the wall. Holly was sleeping next to him, so he laid her head on his shoulder, smiling down at her.

A few moments later, Holly woke up. She looked at Arty's relaxed form and calm face. She smiled and gently moved. She sat beside him.

He turned his head and his blue and hazel eyes locked onto her blue and hazel eyes.

They leaned toward each other and closed their eyes. Their lips touched and they kissed each other, content to just be for a while.

Meanwhile, Butler, Juliet and Mulch walked in. They stopped in shock upon seeing the two kissing.

Butler said nothing, total surprise written all over his face.

Juliet and Mulch were a little less silent. As if on cue, they both started sniggering. (Anyone else ship these two, 'cause I so do.)

Artemis and Holly jerked away, blushing.

"No, no, don't stop on our account." Mulch jabbed.

"Oh, no, go ahead!" Juliet added.

Butler just grinned. "About time."

Artemis and Holly both glared and everyone started laughing.

And Foaly, down in Haven, smirked and said, "Boy am I glad I have access to Fowl's cameras!"

(And has anyone noticed that I love to end my one-shots on a silly note?)
