Finally Found Someone

Chapter 7

LAST DAY OF EXAMS AND THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!

Maaga akong dumating sa school. I felt relieved na hindi ko nakasalubong ang moko. I just love calling him that for no reason. Anyway, I saw my friends studying at the bench near our classrooms. I walked towards them. Napaangat si Pia nang makita ako. "Good morning!" I greeted them with a smile written on my face.

"Buhay ka pa pala?" Cat said and Pia just laughed. "Good to see you too!" sabi ko at tumawa. Nag-aral lang kaming tatlo. We heard the bell rang at tumayo na kami para pumunta sa aming classrooms. We'll just  see each other after the exams since half day lang naman schedule ngayon.

After the exams, I texted Cat na I'll catch up with them after my training. I still have to train dahil next month na ang swimming competition. I went to the locker room to change. I saw Alanna and Ria exchanging conversations and nilapitan ko ang dalawa.

"Hi Thalia!! Oh ano ready kana sa todo training natin today?" Alanna asked I nodded as a reply. "Maiba nga ang usapan. Girl, ano na? Nililigawan ka na ba niya?" Ria asked and she giggled. I gave her a "humanda ka sakin mamaya" look. "Sorry na. Ayaw ko naman ibigay eh. Nagpupumilit kasi yung tao." I just sighed at hinayaan ko na lang.

Todo training kami ngayon. Nakaramdam ako ng pagod but I just ignored it. After 3 hours of training, nagyaya ang iba kumain sa labas. Sinabihan ko na lang sila na pass muna ako dahil parang nang hina bigla ang buong katawan ko. Muntik na ako matumba at buti na lang someone caught my back. It was Jacob. Again. "Thalia!!!! Are you okay?" Alanna asked with a concerned tone. I just gave her a faint smile. "I'm fine. Napagod lang siguro." Jacob helped me stood up. Inalalayan niya ako papuntang bench.

Tahimik kaming umupo ni Jacob. Binasag ko ang katahimikan. "Jacob, about kanina..." Hindi ko natapos ang sasabihin ko dahil bigla niya akong niyakap. I froze. Binitawan niya agad ako. He looked so worried. "I'm sorry Thalia. I can't help myself. I'm sorry." He said na parang ang lungkot niya. "It's okay Jacob. It's okay. Thank you." I held his hand na ikinagugulat niya.

"Masaya ako Jacob. You have been always there for me even if I'm not asking you. Words can't express how truly grateful I am. Pero bakit Jacob? Bakit  ikaw ang laging nandyan?" Tears fell under my eyes. Hindi ko napigilan ang sarili kong luha. Jacob just hugged me tight. He didn't say a word. My phone beeped and it was from Manong Rolando. Jacob walked with me papuntang sasakyan.

"Take care Thalia." Jacob said and tumango lang ako. I arrived at home safe and sound. Alam ko nag-alala lang si Jacob para sa akin. Pero hindi ko napigilang hindi malito sa mga kinikilos niya. Well maybe he's just trying to be a brother or a best friend to me.

Ngayon ko lang na realize na hindi ko pala nakita si Chad buong araw. He didn't even take the exam this morning. Ano kaya nangyari dun? I just shrugged on that thought. I just texted Pia if nasaan sila ngayon. I heard my phone rang and it was from Pia.

"Hey! Nandito ako ngayon sa bahay ni Cat. Come over here. Bring your pajamas." Pia said with excitement. "Okay. Mag-aayos lang ako ng gamit. Do you want me to bring food?" I replied. "Sure. And don't forget to buy ice cream." I hung up the phone.

Nagbihis ako ng denim shorts, white t-shirt at slippers. Doon lang naman kami sa bahay ni Cat kaya okay lang naman itong get up. After I fixed everything, nagpahatid ako kay Manong Rolando. But before that, pumunta muna ako ng grocery store to buy an ice cream.

Ikinagugulat ko ng makita si Chad na may kasamang babae. The girl is wearing an elegant red dress, she's wearing make up at nakalugay lang ang buhok. She's pretty. Iyon na ba ang mga kumakalat chismis na may girlfriend siya? Then why does his eyes looked sad kapag magkasama kami?

Why do I feel sad right now? Parang pinipiga ang puso ko. Hinayaan ko na lang. Ano naman kung may girlfriend siya? Wala namang kami. Binayaran ko na ang ice cream at nagmadaling umalis.

When I arrived at Cat's mansion, nakita ko ang dalawa nagsasayaw na parang baliw. "Lia, come on. Let's enjoy this moment" Cat said. They looked very happy. I just smiled.

Siguro tama nga ang decision kong pumunta dito. The entire room is full of laughter. Masaya ako dahil magkakasama kaming tatlo despite the busy schedules we have. Ano pa kaya kapag graduate na kami? This is the least that I can do. I miss my friends and I miss the fun. Sana ganito na lang palagi. And we spent the entire night laughing.
